My bender was sitting on a bench and the bench found a new home. I wanted to mount it vertically to overcome a few issues. First I thought I could get more accurate bends with an angle finder than a degree ring. Bending long pieces would be easier too.
After a little reading I put my first attempt together and found that my angles were off by 20 degrees. I could have lived with it and just added 20 to the angle finder but I chose to rework the stand to fit longer pieces of tube.
Kevin helped me out with the cuts. My chop saw didn't have the clearance for the cut. I have more pix if someone wants details.
Now for the sliders and front bumper...

Sliders? I thought... Oh, nevermind. Mamma got a new ride yet?

What are the damages if you don't mind me asking?

My thoughts exactly, what size tubing does it bend, looks nice, would like to see what you can come up w/.

Here is the cost breakdown....
Bender $300
I have three dies (1"/3.5" CLR - 1.5"/4.5" CLR - 1.75"/6.5" CLR) and they ran $100-$200.
The ram was $75 at HF.
I had the steel laying around. If I had purchased it it would have cost +-$40.
The casters were $10 a piece.
I haven't had a chance to do much with it yet...I'll post up when I do.
Still looking for a new car for mommy. We are doing some test driving on Saturday.

And the pump for the ram?

Yes it is. My question is the cost of said pump. Thanks for pointing that out though Kevin, way to be on top of things! :flipoff2:

upright bending would feel different to me, but,,,, i have only used one style one time. tiny little hydro thing that just laid on the ground. no frame or solid mount or anything, i would have bought it after the rental but it cost $1200 w/o dies so i passed.

I see... seems like a good deal to me.

tested her out yet? Wondering about the time it takes to make a 90 degree bend.

If you let me buy lunch and steel - can I be one of the first to test it out

Good company and free food? Come by anytime...
Have you posted up pix of your Taco rack? I didn't see them on EP.

I've been reworking the garage and this was one of the projects. I finished up today so tomorrow or Monday I will have more info on bend speeds and performance. It isn't fast but I'll sacrifice the speed for accuracy and ease of use.

Thanks a bunch!

Not yet... the M101 took precedent but, the rack is now being started long distance and I could use to bend the last missing piece (center cross bar) 15 degree bends on both ends maybe in a week or so I will PM you

The food may be free but it's apparent you haven't spent any time with Pasqual... there's nothing good about his company.:flipoff2:

Following is the finished product. I added a leg to the stand and did my best orange and blue Boise State colors, I grew up in Boise.
Did the first bend on her today. It takes about 2 minutes to do a 90 degree bend. That may also be a function of my air compressor. It's about 75 degrees to the end of the ram so I have to move the pin once to get to 90.
I am happy with it. Thanks again to Kevin for some technical support and help from his shop.
