These left the warehouse today....that was one heavy pallet!

You've got the last remaining full rear locking diff from Toyota, a rear axle housing, a front axle housing, a front locking diff (please do stock these Dan), and a whole bunch of other things.....of course, a supercharger as well!!

Someone is going to be very busy soon. ;)

Rear axle housing was 186 pounds. The rear diff itself was ~100 pounds. Front diff was about 80 pounds and the front axle housings was about 100 pounds.

That was indeed a fun one to pack--correctly for the cross-country trip.

Best regards.

Dang. If it didn't already leave I would have had to bribe you to change the address. :D

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: OH HOLY SECOND MORGAGES BATMAN!!! THAT STUFF IS :smokin: !!!!!!!

Who is that luck SOB and can I place his address virtually @ my house?! :crybaby:

I must say, the size of the coin that stuff must have cost must been equally as large as said pallet - if not as large, considerably heavier at the very least.....

I must search the 'smiles' for a 'Waynes World we're not worthy'! :hillbilly:

John

BTW - With an order that size, would shipping be FREE? ;)

Waht do you mean "last remaining full rear locking diff"? Last in New Mexico? last in the world? The last one produced? And finally, what did I miss?

According to Dan, that diff assembly was the last rear diff left that he could source from all of his myriad sources. From what I understood (and Dan can clarify my possible misunderstandings), the rear locking diff assembly is no longer available from Toyota as a whole unit.

If you want an entire rear locking diff, you have to source all of the parts separately and put it together piece by piece. The individual parts are still sourceable.

IIRC, he said there were 3 or 4 front locking diff assemblies remaining.

I hope he gets all of them and keeps them on the shelf. ;)

How much is that pallet worth?

My 3 Guesses:
  • Priceless
  • 1st born completes 17 years indentured birfs service at American Toyota.
  • Cost of RT AMTRAK sleeperette* ride from Albuquerque to Abilene for Dan's dogs' visit to Greyhound Hall of Fame.

*Includes all meals (may I recommend the Flat Iron Steak?) no alcoholic drinks, but slurp bowls filled when buzzer rung

I am sure the person who bought this stuff is more than able to cover the spread.

Think about it: 80 series trucks are going for between (low end) ~$2K to about (high end) ~$10k. If you are serious about building up a truck, spending another $10-20K is really not that much considering it puts you in the ~$30K region which is what most new cars/trucks are going for these days.

From this point of view, the stuff on the pallet is a drop in the proverbial bucket.

Including the cost of the truck, I am almost positive I have at least ~$23-25K in my truck (though, over time).

Yep, i agree. I was just saying one large purchase like that sure would put a sizable dent in my financial quarter panel!! :grinpimp:

I refuse to even try to add up what i think $ wise i have in my truck over the past 6 years.

It's true, I find maintaining/modifying my LX is way cheaper than buying an new truck. I paid for the vehicle cash and have about $17K total into it including maint/mods. So definitely cheaper than a new FJC and cheaper insurance too.

The only thing that confuses me is why someone would need to buy entire axle housings.....

...oh wait...the housings are specific to the electric lockers aren't they? So, the guy doesn't want to do the cut and drill mod and just wants the housing that the lockers will fit?

I sure hope you got him the right housings. Or he's gonna be....

Just kidding. Very cool stuff.

And I thought I spent a lot with you guys...;) Nice job guys.

Onur---Dude, you opened the boxes!

I read this thread and thought holy sh!t, Dan is gonna kill you after last time!

However, when you pack my next order, I would appreciate you opening the boxes and making sure I get the right stuff!

That's a nice load of gear. I should buy a rear housing while they are still available.
