Battery/Charging System Status Monitor for $15

I picked up one of these today at Walmart for $15 today to monitor my battery and make sure my new alternator was doing its job. It plugs right into the cig. lighter.

You can actually see what the alternator is doing while turning on all the electrical loads while driving.

Yes ,but they are not very accurate. Mine reads about 1.5 volts low as compared to a direct check at the battery with a digital voltmeter.

You may also just have a 1.5v drop from corrosion and loose connectors... worth checking out as everything will work better with the extra volt or so.
