I found this video online. Its actually user siphanracing's rig. Unfortunately, he hasn't logged in for the last 3 years or I would just PM him about this question.

On this video, every time he hits the gas if you listen carefully, you can hear a high pitched noise/whine. TURN UP YOUR SPEAKER. I'm not talking about the suspension creaking either. The noise gets higher pitched with acceleration.

If someone could (for the love of God) please identify this sound and put my poor mind at rest I will send you a 12 pack of some of the finest  in the Shire.

Let the Games begin!:flipoff2:

Also, if this video isn't good enough I can provide one of my own just as soon i'm done with my transmission flush later this afternoon.

What I heard was a brake squeal that may be due to the ATRAC, but not sure as I have never wheeled that system. I picked up on it at: 05, 34, 41, 47, 54, 1:27, 1:30, and 1:39 on the clock. Pretty normal, I would not worry about it if I heard it on the trail. John

Dude, Inkpot, You are on the right track, man. Cause when I listened again focusing more on the time in the video, I can really pick up the noise between about 30 to 55. It's not the break squeak though, but its that underlying sound that you can hear at idle and gets louder upon acceleration....my terminology sucks but Im going to call it a whirring sound now that you can hear changing pitch upon acceleration. Sometimes the whir even has a kind of high pitch grind. Try again maybe?.....I can tell you are a beer drinker by the thorough time noting...haha!

Edit: you can actually hear it pretty regularly from 0-1:45
At 1:39 that sound is the noise and not the breaks. The only reason I know is because this damn sound is going to give me a heart attack. My rig just started that exact whir/Grind a month ago and I cant figure it out. It seems to be gradually getting worse.

Edit Part Deux!
Also, Atrac is not an option. I have a 99LX and I am 99.9% sure dude in the vid is rockin a 99 LC.

No beer for me.
Can't hear any high pitched sound, other than the brake squeel. Maybe my ears are getting old.

My guess.... vehicle is equipped with a snorkel. My brother has trd air filter in his 4.7 and it sounds somewhat like a supercharger on acceleration (light whistle), this may be accentuated by the snorkel and reaching higher rpm's in low range.

Only other think I can pick up is the camera man fumbling around with the camera/phone whatever he shot this with. Driver needs to learn how to air down far enough and how to use the "Two Pedal Method" on his rig. Ya'd think he was driving a clutch!

Ahh the pleasures of being hearing impaired. I didn't hear anything.....

Groaning suspension?

Well, as much as I would love to give you guys a beer, I believe I finally diagnosed the problem. I do have a couple videos. One from the top and one from the bottom. This is the noise you old farts couldn't here in the first video. Jk. Since I've replaced or rebuilt just about everything on the drive belt I was beginning to think oil pump in the trans maybe? So I got under the car again and slid back to the trans and nothing. I slid back up front just to take one more good look at those god forsaken pulleys. What d'ya know?! The harmonic balancer has a slight wobble in it. Very slight. But it's there. It's hard to see on camera because I'm no Stephen Spielberg, but I can assure you that this thing looks as balanced as myself after two IPAs. Any thoughts? http://youtu.be/IM0AJvYZtTI

LOL this is my buddy's 100. I was there with him and went up the staircase in my 80 right before he did.
Dude. Was there anything wrong with his hundy? I could swear his rig had that same high pitched noise mine has been doing. Now I'm seeing my balancer slightly wobble. That's gotta be the issue.

I gotta go there sometime. That spot looks sick.

Pull the front tires and see if the brake pad wire spring things have popped loose or broke and are rubbing on the rims.

Thanks man. Fortunately, during a last ditch effort trans flush I noticed that the harmonic balancer had a slight wobble...really slight, but enough to begin the path to destruction, so I tore the entire thing down and found layers of cracks on each side of the pulley. All the rubber was really dry, and when I inspected further, I found this....https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series...t-write-up-replacement-harmonic-balancer.html
So, either because of the two layers of pulley beginning to come apart or because the PO's mechanic was lazy and didn't correctly seat the pulley, all hell was beginning to break loose. The sound that was beginning to get worse by the second within the last few days, was the crank position sensor plate unevenly coming into contact with the crank sprocket. Yay! I win beer!
