My wife was coming home on Friday, and a lady driving a Lexus made a right turn, and swung wide and hit the right rear of the LC with her left front. As you can see, the LC is built rock solid! It just solidifies my belief as to what a solid truck this is. Knocked off the wheel cap and the chrome has some minor scrapes.

Funny because there's absolutely nothing 'solid' about that portion of our trucks. It's just a tupperware wrap-around skin with no metal behind it. My guess is that the majority of the other car's damage came from contacting the PS rear tire. Did it knock of your wheel cap?

My wife recently backed into a concrete sign but didn't do much damage to the rear bumper other than a little paint scraped off. I told her to please hit it harder next time so I can justify the cost of a real bumper.

Took out the resonator, and added the tip. Like this set up better than the stock running thru the receiver hitch. Sounds better too. Been this way since new.

Judging by the extremely light scrape marks on the wheel, I think that may have been where she initially made contact. The cladding and the bumper cover at the wheel well at have taken the hit.

Not a mark on the tire. I think the impact was light on the wheel, and then the cladding.

If it hit the wheel, would it damage the axle?

I would thing the rim would bend before axel. But you could have a shop check the alignment and dial the runout before you settle.

I must be the unluckiest 100 driver.

Another 100 owner hit my stock rear bumper with their stock front bumper twice at 5-10mph and it bent the rear cross member. I ran into the back of a 100 with an aftermarket rear bumper going 5-10mph and it totalled my truck.

As fas as I can tell the stock front and rear ends of the 100 series are very soft and need protection.

A hardened bumper will transfer all of the energy to yours. Is that what caused the damage in your avatar pic? The rear does surprise me a bit. The rear crossmember isn't flimsy but its not 1/4" wall either. Any extenuating circumstances? Sounds like someone in the lead stopped when they shouldn't have.

Extenuating circumstance was a dust/silt cloud/storm created by freshly graded roads.

That'll do it. I blew out my front shocks last year in a similar situation. Late in the day, sun at a low angle, trying to get to a known camp location before the sun went down completely. Was following a buddy who was relaying hazards over the radio. I missed a call out for a drain cut and didn't quite clear it. Both dog and I hit the roof (literally).
