I'm not familiar with this particular truck. I have been watching NW for many years. They have done a few of their own conversions and have sold many cars. Some over priced and sit along time, others move little quicker. My 2¢.

I'm familiar with the truck. I've been watching them build it over the last 2 or 3 years. They bought it almost complete off eBay back in 08' or 09'. It turned out it was pretty cobbled up so they redid the engine install. They also had several mechanics leave the company mid project so it drug the build out. The truck wasn't nearly this nice when they got it so they did a decent job polishing it up and adding the ARB, tires, and I believe some fresh paint on the hood and roof. It has a Slee lift but I'm not sure they know that.

I have not seen it since they detailed it and put it on eBay but I was supposed to go drive it last Saturday but I didn't make it over there. Hopefully I'll get by there one day this week. I would definitely recommend you come and look at it if you're considering buying. In my opinion it's a little rough for a $25k rig even with the 4bt.

25k.... Ouch. No need to
go look at it-can't afford it.

$25k is their asking price locally. I'd say the reserve is $20k based on conversations I've had with them.

I saw it on auto trader as well. The install looks clean but the description of who, what, when was vague. You never know what a person or company has invested in a conversion but for the money you could do your on and know what you have. Wasn't there a Mud member in Canada selling one that was 100% toyota diesel for the same coin a few months back? It was a white 94 that came out of California.

I think it was Greg_B who was selling his 94 for 28k or so. Looked like a quality build but I think it's off the market.

They just completed the install and have been driving it a couple of weeks. This was after several years of on and off working on it. It is a clean install but the cruiser was a little rusty with higher miles to start with. I know they have a lot in it because of the multiple mechanics starting the project over and over. They also had some problems with sourcing adapters and a few other things. I think it's going have to be for sale a very long time before the price drops below $20k.

Intercooler behind the radiator ...... never...:meh:...

nice but..

I really like the install but the carfax says at least 8 years in Michigan.. Grand Rapids.. So there is rust and will likely be more to show in the next few years. They are definitely not going under 20k. I tried. Doh @ the intercooler placement :P

Hawgleg: You hadn't seen it in person? Has anyone on here?

No, I have seen it in person several times but I have not driven it. It is a little rusty but they have done a decent job with cleaning it up as well as the diesel swap (aside from the intercooler placement). Its a pretty clean install. The guys at the shop know landcruisers and diesels, those are their bread and butter, but in my opinion this one probably isn't worth $20k. If it was a southern vehicle w/ lower miles...maybe. It looks better in the pictures than it does in person. They got burnt building this thing with the multiple mechanics leaving mid swap so they have too much money in it. I'd say they actually have close to $20k in the build after all the problems they had to work through. If the original mechanic had stuck with it and the original adaptors they tried to use had worked they would have had about $9k in it and could have turned a nice profit selling it for $15k...which would have been a fair price.

I would advise anyone considering this one to come and look before you send the cash. Maybe my standards are high but I have two FZJ80's with rust comparable to this one and both are nicer inside and I have a small fraction of their asking price invested in both of them.
