Hi,
I'm getting ready to put our '97 LX450 up for sale. White / silver 2 tone. (Only selling it because we decided to move my other 80 from business duty to family duty and buy a diesel truck for my business.)
Highlights:
- I have a binder of all the service records done since 2003. Previous owner was OCD about maintenance and had everything done at dealer.
-153k but local dealer installed new long block at 80k in 2004. (Failed HG under extended warranty.)
- I just replaced the entire AC system with OEM Toyota components this summer.
- New belts this summer.
- Replaced distributor seal this summer.
- New antenna mast this summer.
- New starter contacts this summer.
- Never used for towing. But I just installed a REESE tow hitch and trailer wiring on it a couple months ago.
- Other maintenance highlights that I'll break down better when I put my for sale thread up. In the last year full brake service, full front end service (seals, wipers, etc.), coolant flush, power steering flush, tranny flush, etc. (I have receipts for all of it.)
- Tires still have 50-60% + tread left on them.
Low Lights:
- No lockers.
- I have two keys but no FOBs. (Alarm works, PO just lost them.)
- Driver side rear fender flare has two broken tabs. Fixable, just means the flare is lose and has some scuffs on it.
- Front left birfield made clicking noise on me a couple times while in low range in a tight corner while moving a boat around my property. We just got back from a 1600 mile road trip and it didn't make a sound so I haven't replaced it.
- Overall the interior in in excellent shape, but it does have your standard leather wear on the DS and PS seat bottoms. (DS is pretty rough.) 7" inch scratch in the 2nd row on one cushion and 3rd row is darn near perfect. No stains.
- Some of the lights on the stereo are burnt out but it and the 6 disc changer work great.
- There are two very small rust spots on the rear hatch (2-3mm) not cancer, just surface.
- A few scuffs here and there on the bumpers but not accidents, dents, etc. I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10.
- Doesn't drip any fluids on the driveway but it does have your nice "anti corrosion" protection layers you'd expect from a vehicle this old.
Overall the thing is in fantastic mechanical condition. Drives like a new car. You can see from my sig that I'm OCD about my rigs so I don't buy them if they have issues.
In the next week I hope to get a full listing up and tons of pics but this caught my eye so I figured I'd chime in.
EDIT: I forgot to add I was going to ask $9,499 OBO.
PS - Sounds like you're in TX? I have family in Utah and am open to driving it there for gas. save some of you travel time.
