Hello all,

We are creating a Safety & Recovery Team for Yankee Toys. The purpose of this team will be to gather and supply safety and recovery information to the membership for educational purposes as well as to provide support on trail runs. Additionally, we will be creating some mutually agreed upon safety and recovery rules and guidelines to assist in setting expectations, leading safe trail runs, and operating a responsible off road club.

Goals:
  • A better educated and informed membership.
  • Safe practice and use of recovery equipment.
  • Safe trailside behavior.

Needs:
  • General standards of safety for trail riding in general, recovery, and observing.
  • Detailed information on proper vehicle recovery techniques and use of recovery equipment.
  • Web page on the YT site for safety & recovery.
  • Emailable information on safety & recovery for YT members.
  • Safety & recovery quick fact sheet handed out prior to each trail run.
  • Designated Recovery people for each trail run for reference and/or actual assistance.
  • Emergency plans & medical packs for trail runs.

We need your help!

Please add your thoughts, comments, and suggestions as they relate to safety and recovery and what you would like to see developed for Yankee Toys. Keep in mind that what is presented above is just a start and is also up for debate from the membership.

Thanks for your support,
YT Safety & Recovery Team

NEA4WD had some spill kits or one of the member clubs showed off a spill kit. Included a bunch of stuff to clean up spills in the woods in a handy bag. Might want to include that in the stuff taken on any club sanctioned/sponsered rides.

Rolls happen and sometimes stuff gets out of vehicles in places it shouldn't be. Having the stuff along to clean up will help keep up on the trails.

Nick
