gotta make room for other projects. my kenny robberts RZ350 is about done and ready to go.
1984 RZ350 black/yellow Kenny Roberts. ~7,000 miles, ~600miles on the engine (i need to dig up the old cluster to check on the odo reading to verify). not show-room, but very clean and kept indoors pretty much its whole life. 58hp at the wheel (i have documentation).
what's been done, engine (all parts listed are new):
-stage IV porting done by Gary at specII
-undercut transmission gears and shift-pro selector
-coolhead-pro (fixed for factory flow problems by Gary) 20cc domes are installed, and comes with a spare pair of 16cc domes.
-remote thermostat, 160°F (this bike has no cooling issues)
-ceramic/graphite coated pistons, 65.5mm
-welded crank with hot-rods
-full rebuild with all new seals, bearings, gaskets, and power valves
-v-force reeds with new oem intake boots
-31mm mikuni carburetors with vacuum and oil fittings, dynotuned for sea-level
-Y-boot intake with K&N filter and uni-foam pre-filter
-specII chambers
-hinson clutch plates/springs and pancake bearing on stock basket/hub/pressure plate (it does not slip at all, and is very soft on the lever)
-zeeltronic CDI/PV control
-billet water pump impeller and cover
-new yamalube pump and oil lines (no pre-mix fuel)
-lots of wear left on chain and sprockets
the engine came from this bike: RZ/RD 350 & Misc. 2-Stroke Tech BBS :: View topic - Hate to do it, Jamoffit's R6/TZ/RZ Conversion up For Sale
i "toned it down" a bit to make it more street-friendly, but if one desired the potential is still there for bigger performance (please note, some of the parts listed in that link are no longer on this engine, only what you see listed above).
body:
-new paint. not quite the original yama-yellow. it is a slightly brighter yellow (less red), paint code is for pontiac solstice.
-new oem style decals under clear-coat.
-new carbon fibre headlight fairing and new windscreen (no scratches)
-no dents, no scratches, no rust. just one decal with a minor flaw.
brakes/suspension:
-penske double clicker rear shock
-rebuilt forks and front calipers
-tarozzi fork brace
-swingarm pivot points have been recently serviced with roller bearings in the main pivot
-shindy steering damper
-80% left on bridgestone battleax tires
-new brake pads, front and rear
-front master cylinder from '99 GSXR750 with adjustable lever
-stainless brake lines
-telefix clipon handlebars
electrical:
-zeeltronic CDI/PV
-HID 55W hi/lo headlamp
-new weatherproof fuseblock
-twin air horns (120db. good attention getter, scares the crap out of people)
-koso GP style programmable tach/speedo combo meter
-koso twin EGT meters
-cooling fan. (it's just an el-cheapo radio shack 12V fan, i put in as an experiment. could be upgraded to a better fan, the wiring is there to do it. mini toggle switch (-) on throttle housing)
-electrical plugs associated with the engine and CDI/PV have been replaced with sealed waterproof plugs and heatshrink connectors (at a relatively great expense). they are set up in the same configuration as stock. i.e. idiotproof, can only be connected in one way to the harness.
-please note: the oil level light on the koso meter does not work with the oem yamaha wiring and level sender. the sender is new and everything is wired in, but if the sender is plugged in , the warning light stays on. i have not figured out how to fix this.
needless to say, it runs nice and rides nice, but still looks pretty much stock without a closer careful look. it's been religiously maintained and run with either motul or amsoil synthetic oil, and GL580w90 with molyslip and lucas in the transmission. the only things i have not serviced are the rear brake cylinder and caliper, and the steering stem bearings. turnkey bike, ready to go.
located in maryland. $6,000 obo.
