Does anyone have an older mountain bike for around $50 that I can get for Kasey?

I just picked up a 1994 Trek 830 Antelope from a garage sale and want to get her a bike so we can go riding.

I'd like to get her a fairly nice bike (Trek, Raleigh, Gary Fisher, Giant, Fuji, Specialized, GT, Marin, Ibex, etc...).

If we end up riding a lot we'll get new bikes, but for now used ones will do.

Thanks!

P.S. No Huffy, Murray, Roadmaster, or Next :D

you're heading into another expensive hobby...;)

(you forgot cannondale)
This was actually my first expensive hobby :D

Started with a 1993 Fuji Sandblaster for $320 (that's a lot for a 5th grader).

P.S. I'd take a Cannondale, I guess... :D

Cool, my wife and I also have bikes, Giants, and mine has some custom trail rash. I've since toned down, going over the handle bars just isn't as fun anymore, not that it ever was. Let me know if you ever bring the bikes along to the trails.

FYI, I went to Walmart for the first time in years the other day, and they now carry Mongoose. That used to be a high end bike back in the day, only available from specialty shops.

Yeah, I think the Mongoose bikes at Wally world are ok, but they're not the same as their high-end stuff. Same with the Schwinn's they sell there.

I know Target is selling some Forge bikes which have nice components for a good price. The guys/gals on MTBR seem to really like them, especially for the price.

I'll definitely be bringing the bike along with me.

I have a Specialized that's about 10 years old. Can't recall what model it is, but I can check tonight if you're interested. It's been sitting in the basement for the last 4-5 years.

Definitely interested in the Specialized.

Also, my antenna situation should be all fixed now. I scraped the paint off the bottom side of the antenna "mount", added a nylon bushing so the stud fits better, and I removed the ground wire and am just using the bullbar as my grounding plane (at least, I think that's what you said).

Time to test the SWR again.

Wife has a slightly used Specialized Street Stomper. It is fat tired, but maybe not enough of a MTB? No suspension. I'll ask het if she wants to sell it, if you are interested.
