Folks, this is a head scratcher. The other day, my LX 570 had a check engine light and reduced engine power warning come up, and the truck even went into limp mode. At first I was really worried that this was related to / caused by the Harrop supercharger (and that's still a possibility).
However, when I took it in to the dealership, the code related to the throttle body. The dealer tech said that the throttle body on the vehicle was aftermarket so they couldn't work on it. This was a surprise to me, because I did not swap out the throttle body and it wasn't swapped when I installed the supercharger.
I ran the throttle body part number and found that the part that's on the vehicle is a Lexus OEM part, and it was used on the 200 series LX, but only for 2008 through 2011. The original OEM throttle body for the 2020 LX is a different part. So I'm trying to get ahold of the right part and get it swapped out.
It seems that the previous owner of my LX may have swapped out the throttle body at some point. Or it was swapped out by the Toyota dealership where I bought it used. Either way, I'm baffled at how the wrong throttle body ended up on it.
Any ideas / thoughts about how this might have happened or why someone would have done so? Also, any thoughts on whether changing to the correct part will fix the issue?
