Leaping deer came down today to help out with my64' fj45lv resto today. my plan was to check a few of mechianicals that I had started and not finished yet then tape off the doors and jam the insides and edges (the edges on an lv door are 5" wide so no small feet)
anyway he hopped under to attach the clutch fork and quickly discerned I had put the throwout bearing and coupler on backwardshttp://images.ih8mud.com/images/smilies/oops.gif.so we figured to just pull the tranny back and flip the bearing and bolt it back up............
well the pilot bearing decided to stick to the end of the transmission shaft and caused us all kinds of trouble. when all was said and done we basically redid the whole clutch job.but we did it correctly and i can really cross that off my list of things that need to be done. and now I have a better understanding of how the clutch and clutch slave cylinder works. oh well I'll jamm the doors later.
a big thanks to Jason we took abite out of the project.
