CLC,

Jeff, James, and I are going to tackle the following on Sunday, Feb 27 at 1:00 at Jeff's shop:

Weld in Metal-Tech-Cage roll bar (and paint if time permits)
Install Aussie Locker in rear
Rear axle seals
Rear drivers side cylinders and shoes

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Beer and pizza (dinner) are on me.

Scheduling the front axle and hub rebuild at a later date - maybe May 6-7.

GSMTR or BUST

We aint pushin' the front axle that close to GSMTR. We can do it at your house to make easier on you if you like. All we need is a jack and stands. I think we can handle that.

CLC,
Rear drivers side cylinders and shoes

Do both sides. If I'm in town I'll be there.

Aw-hell I'm in..!

CLC,

Thanks for the support! I really appreciate it.

Jess, I did the passengers side cylinders and shoes when I had a major leak (cyl failed) last spring. I ordered everything for both sides but just have not gotten to the drivers side yet (my lazy ass). Since we will have it all apart for the seals and locker, I figured it was time to get-r-done.

CLC, The reason I wanted to do the front axle at a later date is because I want to do most of it myself so I learn something! If we had a huge pit crew all at once attacking the front axle, rear axle, and roll bar, I would be bouncing all around between them and not learning a damn thing. If anyone has a date in mind for drinking beer and looking over my shoulder to make sure I don't screw it up, please let me know. I'm open to doing it anywhere as long as it can be done in a day. Otherwise, I can take a little longer (weekend) in my garage. I have 2 jack stands and access to a good jack (neighbor). Thanks to Greg for the offer to borrow the necessary tools.

Thanks again - GSMTR or BUST

The knuckle rebuild can be done in a day but you need to plan on 2 since its your first one. Actually, if you start work on it Friday afternoon you will probably get to the point where you need help the same time you get tired. Its not a hard job, just a butt-load of steps.

Hey Lash, You better get to work on a tow rig. I hear Jess' is for sale???? I know you can round up something. We can round up a trailer I am sure. I think we have too many trucks that want to go for the tow vehicles we have. JJJ, Tony (new 40), Lash and Jeff with 2 tow vehicles. The sissy 60 series can drive!

Later,

Jeff, If JJJ's truck is ready and mine isn't, I will tow his and copilot yours. We need to get your neighbor Buba (or is it Buck?) into this. I believe that his truck would pull a little ole cruiser. Heck, if his daughter wanted to ride along, that would be okay too.

Anybody ever thought about flat towing? Any suv or pickup should be able to handle a 40.

I resemble that comment!

Well Brother Paul is selling his Escalade if anyone is interested - yeah right with this group. Anyway, there goes my tow rig. Brother Ken's wife has a Sequoia. Can it handle the GunRunner?? Flat towing may become a requirement. Any flat tow advice?? Disconnect drive shafts?? Anyone have a tow bar? I've got some trailer lights we can rig. We can even drop the windshield for less wind resistance. I would need some windshield/hood rubber bumpers if anyone has some. Anyone available for a pull to Tellico? I'll buy half the gas. Brian, are you driving the 80?

Looking forward to Sunday. I've been stepping over this roll bar for eight months. It's going to be great to get it done. And Jeff says I'll grow a HUGE LOW-HANGING PAIR after the Aussie Locker goes in. Guess I'll need new pants on Monday!

See y'all Sunday and thanks for the help.

Lash

The Sequoia will pull it just fine. Tow bars are available at most auto parts houses.

I have to build Ashleys rock rails on Sat/Sun anyone wanting to help please come...lots of work to be done.

Choctaw-can you bring your tube bender???

Put the Gun Runner on a tow dolly and it should do fine. Tell them you are towing a camary when you rent it. Call Brian for instructions. The windshield rubbers are cheap at CCOT.

Yea-DO NOT TELL U-Haul its a Land Cruiser. Somewhere in there data a cruiser is the devil...tell them its a toyota truck or a camry but not a cruiser.
Pulling the 60 behind Ashleys 80 was fine except for the traffic, got crazy some times.

Hey Jeff,

I'm in town for the weekend (I've been exiled to Tupelo for a couple of months), count me in for sunday, where is your shop located?

Work on sliders turned out great!
