My wife got a 97' Wrangler and we both love it. My ? is...
The "check engine" light came on and I'm sure it's the utmost of basic to, "oh s#*t, someone stole your engine!"
I have the factory "service manual" for our Lumina and know how to re-set the oil light, I'm sure it must be something easy to re-set the engine light? I hope!?
Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Pull the positive battery cable for a couple of minutes. Should clear the memory of the ECM. If it comes back quickly- have it scanned at Pep Boys/ AutoZone/ O'Riellys/ Checker, etc. If it doesn't come back quickly- it is less worrisome.

Thank you, we will try that and hope it stays off. I hate to find out a rod bearing is bad!
Yea, like the engine light tells you that, EH!?

'most likely' a sensor issue...and depending on mileage, an O2 sensor...more highway and less city will 'help' that...

I tryed the batter trick, but that didn't work. I will look into getting it on a computer and see just what it is. Thanks for the help everyone.
