Would it be Ok to negotiate setting up TLCA w/ Local Dealerships?

Like, can I goto the parts manager(s) since I have an in with those within my region I work in and ask them to help support us as we support them through the setup of accounts with a discount similar to or really close to what some have historically have been given?

I can't openly disclose the rate, but trust me it's pretty nice, but doesn't surpass or supplant the local small club's rates.

Basically, so all you'd have to do if say traveling through my area and need a part is goto the counter, say "I'm with TLCA", show your card, they input it under "TLCA" take your name and member # down for the records, and you get a kick-ass price deal.

The reason this comes to mind is (at least around here) there's been a lot of changes recently within different dealerships as far as staffing, owner's, etc and when I went to pick something simple up it was a PITA to get my discount since they had it in different formats for each place. 1 method=Simplicity for everyone IMHO.

Justin Ward's welcome to chime in here. So far two dealerships I brought it up with have been really enthusiastic about getting it going as they see us all as a positive influence as well as valued customers.

Our Club has a similar set-up

We are on the other side of the Country, but Wellseley Toyota in Massachusetts is Awesome. They give our Club Discounts on parts and also donate to our Club Event
the "Fall Gathering".
This is not a TLCA thing, just w/ our local club Yankee Toys. :)

As far as I know, there is no prohibition with setting up a dealer to give discounts on parts (and/or service and sales, etc.) to TLCA members. I have done this with several dealers, both for TLCA and also for my local chapter. With the new business directory in Toyota Trails and on the TLCA web site they could then become eligible to be listed. That benefits members by showing them where they can get a discount, and it benefits the dealer by driving business to them.

Nope. There is no restriction on putting more benefits to our membership in place. Carry on with the good work, sir. Once you have the final details get them to me, and I will pass them on to Bodean, and get the word in in the next column, and have Matt post it on the website.

So what would you need then, just contact person for Dealership-X and their info to call and verify it.

I haven't had to go into what you mention about it being a list of spots, but for sure it could be a benefit.

I'll text or pm you what I got later this month.
