Anyone know if 5th gen 4Runner rock sliders would work on an 04 GX470? Are they too long, etc?

Thinking I could drill holes, bolt them on, etc?

Or is this a pipe dream?

TIA!

Yes, they 100% will work, but it's not a direct bolt-on. The 470 and 5th gen 4Runner share many of the same holes, the 4Runner just has more of them. You'll need to drill around 8 new holes per side and add M8X1.25 rivet nuts. It's not terrible, just slow and requires a right-angle drill, step bit, and the patience to install the rivet nuts. It's probably easier to just get GX470 sliders, but this method saved me a few hundred bucks. With the new holes the sliders have ~13 M8x1.25 bolts per side and are very sturdy.

Thanks, Rednexus!

I found those FB Marketplace for $550. Just seeing even if even feasible.

Thanks

Yup, no problem! Again if you don't mind spending half a day drilling and setting rivnuts, it can be a pretty good deal and save you $500+ over a new set of 470 sliders. I also personally don't like some of the 470 sliders that wrap around the frame - I think the 5th gen 4Runner sliders with the giant frame plates are a better mounting system. You could probably lift up the rig into the air by the slider with a crane and it would stay attached with 13 bolts per side.

FYI my sliders are All-Pro/Apex sliders. They were $700 shipped when I bought them from Summit Racing in 2021 but are now $900 shipped. I would assume those RCI sliders have the same length as the All-Pros but you should verify. The Apex sliders were a perfect fit for my GX470 - vertical position and how far front/rear they went.

Thanks!!! I was thinking to verify length.
