So, I'm a bonehead...
I've been working on differential gear swaps, axle and brake rebuilds for F & R for the last month. Rear axle and brakes are complete. Front axle is complete. All soft brake hoses replaced & drums/calipers rebuilt. Diffs and Suspension parts pulled and painted with POR-15. (can't wait to have both axles POR painted- someday) I somehow ordered the front brake disc rotors for a 94+ and just now realizing that the rotors are too big for my 91. One hub assembled,& bearings greased, of course. Not sure how I managed all that, but here I am. You would think that I would learn...:bang: @ToyotaMatt - you know the story before this...

I'm assuming that I could get the splash shields and calipers for a 94-96 and be good. Just another upgrade. Correct or wrong?
I'm not opposed to purchasing new calipers, but my marriage may be in jeopardy if I place another big order like that right now. :censor: I'll have to change my name to IdahoBoy early next year; saving pennies for the move.

So, I'll clean and put the old discs back on, as they aren't horribly scored, and within thickness spec.

And I had high hopes of finishing up today. Buggers.
(minor rant over)
Cheers!

Absolutely replace the shields and order a couple of calipers, if money is an issue get some remans. As you can see the rotors are much beefier.

If you are running '91 OEM 15" wheels, the larger calipers/rotors will not fit.
Yes, thank you for that- 16" rims and 35" tires on the way after a short gear break-in period! :bounce:

You can always trim the shields to clear the rotors until you can get new ones, or do like may of us and eliminate them completely depending on your intended use. I used to get so much gravel and mud packed in there and bent them all the time anyways
True, but... I would rather have the new dust shields, paint them with POR-15, and install the new calipers and discs at the same time. Not ready to purchase new calipers just yet.

Added to the shopping list!

Just buy old calipers and rebuild them yourself.

if you can get BREMBO made in Italy Rotors , ?

that is my path over OEM toyota

there 100% Ceramic coated all NON-contact surfaces this = NO rust clogging up the vented styles ,

i have rear drum set ups only , Brembo does dot offer the stand alone DRUMS

the made in ITALLY thing far better then TOYOTA rotors soaked with cutting all nasty ,

then RUST = Heat-Build up / lack of cooling , its insulation in a metallurgy form
