We've been working with-out a contract since
last November, last night they came to an agreement between parties
and we vote soon.
More job security was the big sticking point.
I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy now!

Nation wide with the letter carriers. The other unions signed back in Nov.
The offer they gave us was a 5 year contract, a one time lump sum pay increase of $900, no COLA's, increase in insurance costs, reduction in vacation time, and the big thing was they wanted to eliminate delivery positions and sub-contract the work out.
We ended up with a 8.85% wage increase over 5 years, 9 COLA's, increase in insurance premiums, They will not subcontract out, they will no longer hire "casual" employees (no bennies low wage).
Our fight was for job security.
