Having problems with my trailer lights. I have a 4 pin connector. i have 8.6 Volts at the pig tail and almost volts at the light. Does this just mean I have ols wires that need to be replaced? bad connection somewhere? There's a voltage drop on the stop/turn signal connection also, but at least there's enough juice to make it light up. Thanks!

I replaced the wires and the light fixtures, cleaned up my grounds, and everything works well. I tested the resistance in the old wire, it was pretty bad.

How is the trailer grounded to the tow rig? Through the 4-pin connector? Make sure that's good on the tow rig side as well as the trailer side. You can test by taking a battery jumper cable and temporarily clamping it onto the tow rig and the trailer.
