Hey guys just moved from Iowa to La Crosse and looking for a winter trail ride opportunity here in Jeep country. Anybody know of any decent trails in the area? I know 'Woody' constantly complains of no trails in WI but there has to be something. The 'Jeepers' I'm friends with say there are some trails around here but I haven't had a chance to get anything going yet. My 73 40 should be ready to go for a trail ride here in 30 days. Anybody up for a day or weekend trail ride?

Happy New Year!

Hoz

If you are in LaCrosse look up Apple Valley or head up to the Iron Range in MN. Nothing I know about around here.

a> there is no winter yet
b> really, there is no public place to wheel...you think I kid on that...there isn't...

Real Performance Machines - Apple Valley Farms Offroad Park has one winter date

Many clubs do have private land that is used for wheeling. I've had some invites to those, but they are largely club/invite only and are not accessible outside event dates.

I am planning on the Feb 25-26 date. You gonna show up there or are you still building your 40?

Is anyone interested in actually getting Lengendary Cruisers club going again? I was thinking about starting and LC club in this area but didn't want to step on anyone's toe's. Thoughts?

If you want to run with it, go for it :)

I doubt the 40 will be ready...it's a frame and tub right now...and I'm out of town for 4 weeks between now and that date...and for me, that date is booked :)

It would seem that winter is possibly coming this week. At this point I'm just hoping for good enough ice for the races in Feb.

I've been in hybernation for last few months with a new job. I'm all in if we get the club going.

I'm going to be busy the next few months but am putting ideas together for a logo and researching how it works. I'm all in as well. I would like to get together with some Cruiserheads at the Apple Valley winter run at the end of Feb though. If anyone interested we should try to meet for that run.

I went last year to apple valley.

It is a good time. you will need alot of HP and wheel speed to climb some of the hills and make sure your brakes are in check. Bring food/water/whatever as you are pretty much out on the trail all day.

I'd gladly meet up and lead the pack around if others are interested.

PM me direct or keep posting here about apple valley if we want to get a group ride together.

Woody is right, there is nothing here in WI.

You have the pipeline which is hit and miss on if you will get harrased by the DNR/forest service.
McCastlin is shut down (last time I heard).
Northwoods is fun for a day or a weekend, but you will get tired of the same trails again, again, and again. Don't get me wrong, it is nice, but its pretty low pace. Good for a relaxing weekend.

This is 100% true, unless you find someone with privet woodland that'll let you wheel on (Good luck on that)

IA has decent wheeling areas, why not WI! :bang:

They need to turn a section of the Kettle Moraine into an OHV park!

I'm in on Apple valley of anyone else wants to go. Have the horses and the clearance.

We are working hard on WORVPI over at WOHVA.COM guys and gals. We are having a workshop April 13th in Mole Lake put on by NOHVCC and WOHVA. More info @ WOHVA.com
