What % is everybody using for window tint? Local shop said I should go with 20% to match the rear windows. Anybody go darker on the rear windows? Got quoted $100 for the front 2 windows. Show some pictures of what you went with.

I went with a few % under my state’s legal. Combined with the rear already being it seems darker than it is. It’s not a fishbowl but it’s definitely not limo dark.

I usually go with 35% on the 2 fronts(State's legal) and 20 on the rears/rest of the vehicle. Although, I have yet to tint the GX's windows.

Looked at the rear windows today. According to the label on the windows they are 20% tint from the factory. Couldn’t see any label on the front windows.

Given that the rear windows are already tinted, how much darker would 50% tint make these back windows? Anyone have experience with that?

In my state I can go as dark as the rest of the factory tint is. Only if the factory tint is the glass itself and not a film applied.

I was thinking about going darker for the rear windows but I think I will leave it factory to save some money. In Montana I could go blackout for the rear windows if I wanted to since it is a SUV.

Damn I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer. I want a light film to reflect heat on the back windows but I don't want them so dark you can't see through. From my research only the really high end films come in 70%+. Anyone have any experience with Suntek? There are a lot of mixed reviews and I don't mind paying a bit more for better quality but I don't want to break the bank. I've seen a few posts saying that the carbon tint changes color after only a year or 2

Can you get any light mirror tint for the rear?

We’ve only got 5-6 places locally that do tint. One does the high end tints that are SPF rated and they also do residential. They hand cut each window to fit, which is odd because there’s another place 10 minutes away that has a machine cut each piece and it goes on like a fitted decal. Spray the glass down with the soapy water and it’ll slide around until it’s just right. Whereas the other shop has a little hand jig with a razor to cut the gap for the window to roll up or for fixed windows they have another jig.

On the higher end films like 3M crystalline tint you can get 90% tint which is basically clear. Nothing like that on the lower end of the spectrum that I've seen. I got a quote for the 3M crystalline and the Llumar equivalent and they were both around $750-800 to do the whole car including the windshield
