i know this is the felt thread, but are the window runs still available?
looking at doing an overhaul on my doors, and what needs attention the most are runs.

That spray on stuff looks bad. Can you use baking soda to blast it off? Mike

Assuming this ? is for me. The ONLY thing that has worked is Airplane paint stripper. It takes it down to bare metal. But each panel is going to need to be removed to do it. He over sprayed everything....around the corners and curves, everything.

Just a mess.

No one seemed to know. So I ordered a set for myself based on the PN's posted here (which correspond to the EPC). No dice. Black felt with chrome interior piece where it mates with the interior panel.

I knew that was going to be the case. :frown:

Johnny/Onur... Got mine today. Solid black exterior but, yes chrome on the interior ones..

Time to get out the etch primer and satin black paint....

For those of us with no door panels... would there be any issue with running exterior trim on the inside (ie. buying 2 sets of outer trim)???

The metal (with holes) around both inside and outside of window looks the same.....

What do you think?

It seems like it would work. I don't think the two rubber pieces would pinch the window enough to cause it to stop moving. You could probably attach the rubber piece to the inside using heavy duty double sided tape. The tape actually works a lot better than you'd expect, I was surprised at least.

:frown: Oh well. Time to continue the search.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but the following parts have been discontinued.

68210-90A02 (drivers left outer belt, no chrome, weatherstrip)
68180-90A01 (rear right outer belt, no chrome, weatherstrip)

Also, the rear door channel runs are discontinued. I made a large Toyota order for door rubber parts and was told these were gone. Thankfully, I was able to find the discontinued parts at Specter. They may still have the above parts available. Not sure if I grabbed the last ones.

You need a new parts source. These are both readily available.

I have them in stock and my Toyota depot has them in stock.

smackdown

Still was able to get what I need. So I don't really care. Just offering what info I was given. What's the magical source for up to date parts availability? Toyotapartsoverstock.com told me they were discontinued. What parts source do you suggest?

Some place where you can interact with a real human being, a parts professional who knows what they are doing.

A website will eventually be limiting if you have no idea who is behind the website.

Your local Toyota dealer's parts department would be a good place to start. Develop a relationship with them and you'd be surprised that they can help you.

:wrench:

Does Toyota still make the interior ones without the chrome that work on doors without panels like in the photo below....??? Thanks
