Dark wheels on charcoal cruiser

I have an 89 Dark Grey cruiser and not sure that rock crawlers will look good. So someone prove me wrong and post some pictures with black wheels. Otherwise considering the 058 Eagles (15x8 3.25BS).

Look forward to the post.

Thanks,
Mark

Any rim that has the correct 6 lug bolt pattern, and your preference of back spacing and offset will work.

My rims are 6 on 5.5 with 5.5" of offset.

17x9" Trail ready bead locks.

I think black wheels look great on crusiers. I would go black, but my chrome OEM wheels are in near perfect condition. Trick: Get your OEM wheels powder coated or paint them yourself with engine block paint so it can withstand the heating from the brakes. I did that with my last vehicle and it looked proffesional.

Benji,
I agree that black wheels on all cruisers except possibly charcoal looks great. I have a friend with the bronze color as above with black wheels and it looks great. I have really only seen one picture of a dark grey with black wheels and was not impressed but it was shot in poor lighting.

Thanks,
Mark

I've never been a fan of black wheels on 60's, my favorite color is the OEM Toyota gray. I do like how alloy rims look, that bronze FJ60 above looks *nice*...I just can't bring myself to run alloys, I'm paranoid of denting or cracking one on the trail and then not being able to field repair it.

any suggestion on how to paint over chrome wheels? mine are kinda rusting a little bit and i think black rims are cool. will the paint stick to the chrome or do i have to spray them with something first.

Sand blast them first.

Its way in there that's for sure.

Exactly. I tried on some wheels & tires from an '80s toy 4x4, but didn't have enough room up front for the tie-rod ends. Anybody know? for an '84 FJ60?
