I was wondering if 15" wheels would fit on mY 96 4runner so I could have the same tires for my 91 Toyota pickup And the 4runner

Did your 4runner come with 16" wheels? If it did, the answer is probably going to be no. Maybe worth a try, though. A couple of people have had brands of 15" rims that have cleared the larger brake setup.

I got my 15x6 60 series steelies to fit my Tundra with a 1.5" Billett spacer. After I was told it couldn't be done.

If you add spacers, you can put 15" wheels on anything. Spacers are illegal in some states, including the one I live in. But I will conceded that spacers could work. If they don on a tundra they will on a 3rd gen (I have tundra brakes on mine, so they should be identical in terms of fitment for me).

If you have the larger brakes they will not bolt on as they will interfere with the caliper. I do believe they will fit on the back. You might also be able to find some wheels with the right backspacing to allow them to fit, but it would have to be fairly low. Probably around 2.5" would be my guess. If you went to a tire shop they could test fit of lots of stock wheels to see what will work.

I have a 97 runner with 16 inch wheels/brakes. I tried to fit a set of stock FJ 40/60 8 inch steelies. No go on the front as they rubbed the calipers. As mentioned not an issue in the back. I have not attempted wheel spacers but may consider it just to see.

oh well, ill just stick with the 16's i guess its not a big deal. i just like the tire selection for 15's and it would be nice to be able to just buy one size... oh well. the tires on there have some life left in them anyway

Spacers will allow 15's to work as others have said- thats the only way to do it- otherwise they wont clear your calipers.. though depending on your tire size 285+ you'll need spacers even with the 16s to clear your uca's. Look at it this way- with the 16s you can upgrade the brakes- at least to the 119mm without any issue. If you get tired of the way they look paint em..

I have a 2000 Tundra TRD I inherited from my wife when we got married and I think it's a great truck. It's my first pickup and want to get bigger wheels. I know ill need at least a 3" leveling kit. I recently looked at a set of 33x12.50 R15's and love em but from researching the crap out of it, it can only possibly be done with a 2" spacer?

Yes, but FJ60 wheels are 3.75 to begin with and it's going to depend on the design of the wheel.

Best to get hub centric spacers if you're doing it, hopefully your wheels are as well.

You will be hanging the wheel and tire out the fender by a few inches, might be tough on the hubs.

I did it for a while but soon after switched to 285/75/16s and was happier.

I ran black steelies from Wheelers on my '04 Tacoma Doublecab.
