Think the FJ is something the wife will like? Her last two cars where a 2001, and 2005 Ford Explorer. She now knows there junk because off all the problems she's had. Also is the center dash easy to remove and paint so it doesn't match the body color?

Second part first, yes the center dash is easy to remove.
First part second, if the wife is the one that want's the center dash repainted then she probably won't like driving the FJ. It's made for function over form. If the color of the center dash is that important to her then she is most likely the type that will have the rear view mirror adjusted so she can check her makeup while driving down the road. The FJ requires you to use your mirrors properly, all of them and move your head to see around the a-pillar and so called blind spots.
Of course I don't know your wife, but you knew this when you asked your question, so I am just trying to say if she wants a vehicle you drive (pretty much any where she wants to) she'll probably love it. If she wants a vehicle to ride in while looking pretty, she will probably hate it.
ymmv (your milf may vary), haha, sorry couldn't resist.
Only one way to find out... Get her one and than let her accessorize with Metal Tech 4x4 Suspension, bumpers, sliders, roll cage, ICON, Total Chaos, Old Man Emu, ARB, PIAA, Metal-tech, FJ Cruiser, Tacoma, Land Cruiser
My wife has had one for 4 years. 80k on the truck so far. She has had suburbans, tahoes, and land cruisers. Went from a 05 cruiser to this. She loves it for town driving. Very easy to get around in cause of the short wheel base. Not that good on highway drives. Short wheelbase again, plus it loud on the highway.
Positive side is not a single thing has broken on it. Not one trip to the dealer.
My wife hates driving mine. The blind spots are a real pain to a new FJ driver. It doesn't ride very well, it's noisy as hell, the back windows are really portals, the spare takes up half the rear window, your windshield is only about 13" tall, the A Pillars might as well be drywalled, etc... Many ladies also bought the Xterra sport thinking it was "cute" and just another suv. Same problem, they're built for fun-ction, not form. Not that you can compare a xtra to a FJ, just similar outcomes...lots of them on the used market at first.
What is she looking for in a vehicle? SUVs are definitely not for everybody. After having driven a minivan and a large SUV (100 series LC) my wife was adamant on having a 4-door sedan. She loves her car. Not mine, though.
