He literally pulled up to my shop THE NEXT DAY in his newest Toyota purchase.😛
It’s not a hobby. It’s an addiction.

It's a 1998 4Runner poverty pack aside from the AT. Doesn't even have a clock or tilt steering (I'm going to add both)! In my defense it was the deal of a lifetime. And I did my own PPI, so it's on me if it all goes Pete Tong. /indefensible

I think the market is soft all around for classic stuff, especially those cars / trucks that ran up big during and after Covid. BaT seems like an exception to some degree. The "appears that the owner may have sat in what appears to be a vehicle at some point in the past, don't hold us to it" type descriptions drives me nuts. And the comment section... But if you're looking to get top dollar, it's not a bad option.

EDIT - good article from Rob Siegel on BaT and ratty 2002s. Good dude - contributed to a project he worked on getting a deceased friend's 2002tii up and on BaT as a mitzvah to his widow.

This begs the question if, at some point, say 40 years in my case, if you still have the same S.O. as when you started, it’s ok to call it a lifestyle rather than an addiction?

Ol' Green, ... 4th motor, ... 50 years this week!

Some price appreciation with this example. Kind of kicking myself for not acting when it was listed on here cheap

There are currently coming more and more Middle East Cruisers in Europe: mostly with gaz/petrol engines, which is not common here. Sometimes, they do come from Latin America too...

Yeah I can’t believe yours hasn’t sold. Looks like a great deal.

I was thinking about selling my 45… it is way too pretty for me to drive. I don’t like getting dust on the frame. In the last 3 yrs I may have put on 150 miles at best…only on perfect weather days and only to Lowe’s , Home Depot, supermarket or gas. No way for a truck like this to hide. The problem is I really love it but getting older is becoming more limiting. Some of us go from 70 to 80 in the blink of an eye. Don’t let that happen to you!!

Still not sure what to do. Maybe a multi-vitamin?

Thanks. Fun ride but not a driver for me… more of a showroom thing…easily a daily driver but that might be the best thing to do

Yeah, I don't understand it. or get it. Oh well I'll just keep driving it.

Everyone wants something complete with a perfect body but doesn’t want to pay what it takes to get it to that condition. I personally like diamonds in the rough, a little bit of effort to get mechanically dependable but maintain a patina. That’s what is cool in my eyes.

This is my goal 100%!

Here is an interesting one with good patina. It has some rust issues but priced well. Just so you know, oem Toyota wheels are selling for $250 each now, add 33” tires at today’s prices and a new 5 wheel and tire set will set you back almost $3k by the time you have the new wheels painted or powder coated. It also has a newer 2f.
