I was driving on Redwood Highway just before Dairy Queen and Dutch Bros and almost fell out of my wife's highlander as I saw a diesel 60 on the side of the road with a drift boat. If I was driving I would have left skid marks on the road but instead we just kept on driving. Obviously my wife hasn't grown to appreciate the finer things in life:) Anyway does anyone know who that was? I think it was blue in color but maybe wrong as I was beside myself at the time.

There is a diesel 60 in Ashland, off white with dark brown bed liner on the bottom. I think it is even a 5spd, sprung over on 33's I think. I don't know the guy I just deliver to his house sometimes.

I see that one around town also. I'll try to hook him up.

I've met the Ashland guy a couple times. Not all that outgoing, not on Mud, seemed kind of tired of Cruiserheads wanting to know/talk about his rig. :meh:

He said Proffitt's built it:

Proffitt's Cruisers

No that's not it. It had stock suspension bumpers etc. It was pretty average looking except the front emblem which had Diesel on it. I knew I should have grabbed the steering wheel and made my wife pull over. Anyway, keep your eyes open I didn't even look at the license plate it could have ben from out of state.

The one you posted the picture of I believe I saw (less trailer) at BlackBird.. Looks like someone scored a mine truck (HZ powered probably).

Having pulled way more than I should have with a 60, I would say that combo is way over what I have done..

Where did you get that pic?

Glad to see my old 60 floating around! :D

It has a Cummins 4BT/NV4500 in it. That was the first 4BT swap we ever did. Somewhere in Ashland, OR now. I thought he was taking it down to Costa Rica? Maybe it came back or maybe it never went?

These pictures are from the day that I got my first HZJ75 mine truck. The 1HZ/H55F drivetrain is now sitting in a SWB 45 Troopy and the body is somewhere in Manitoba, Canada.

I estimated that I was pulling close to 10K pounds. Not too bad. The 4BT seemed to handle it well.

Brings back some memories.
Thanks.

Definitely a unique rig! Thanks for sharing some history on it!

The most history mine has is: went over curbs at the mall a lot, and had to adjust the pink panties (literally! ).

:frown:

Your welcome.

I forgot to mention that it was known as the "Fritota". 1/2 Frito Lay Van and 1/2 Toyota. There's a couple of threads out there about it.
