Driving west on Waddel at Litchfield around 12 noon (9-29), a beautiful RHD, tannish, FJ40(?) with a truckbed and a "canback" and the liscense "SWAGMAN" drove by. I know it's not really a 40, but rather some number/letter designation I'm unfamiliar with (hey, I'm a NISSAN guy ) but man, what a sweet looking Cruiser. A real headturner.. Is he a local here, anyone know about it?
Not mine. I used to have a 66 FJ45 LWB white but sold it 3 years ago.
By the way, i want to pass this on to you and your club that there about a classic car show on October 21st at the new cardinals stadium. All kinds of club are welcome to join. Here's more info link.
I joined this forum just to solve this swagman issue- he is a buddy of mine- whom I've known for a lon time-being retired he spend half of his time between Aus. and Phx.
he is now in the process of building his house in Tonopah; great guy..
he brought "Matilda" over after he bought her in Aus. and crossed the "bush" with her for 6 months.
With our help, he restored her, locked w/ ARB and now in the proccess of replacing the susp. w/ OME.
The next project is to find a solution to add a power steering set up for the rhd.
any sugestions?
An older Holden steering box may be the same as a GM saginaw box. Next time he's in Oz he can pick one up and bring it back to the US in his luggage. Then BAM... RHD power steering.
