Man,
I hate Georgia Tech. They always swoop in and kill Clemson's momentum. Whats worse is they made it look way to easy!

so does anyone have any projections for bowl games that we might get in since the championship is definitely out of our grasp?

Personally I don't think the Championship game was ever in our grasp. Our defense sucked to bad to win 13 games in a row without tripping up somewhere. Glad we got the monkey off now so we won't be thinking ACC CG and title hopes coming into Willie B. Clemson needs to make Carolina look like a redheaded step child late Nov. if we want any respect after the regular season and going into next year. I don't care if we lose the next 2 games, BEAT UsUC!

^this. I think we will get the Orange Bowl. I was hoping to play Stanford but who knows now. Maybe Arkansas or Oregon.
Honestly, I think we will win every game hear on out. We looked exhausted against GT. our boys need some rest. Kind of hard to keep up the hard playing momentum we did for such a young inexperienced team. Next two years should be different if Boyd decides not to transfer in hopes his house doesn't get egged again.

I think boyd is one of the best things we have going for the team right now. i hope he doesnt leave.



to belmonts point, on second thought we are a little inexperienced with most of our team being under classmen. so maybe the championship was a little far out to grasp, but i would have been nice!
 
Not cofirmed who actually did the egging. Could have been a Cock fan, GT fan, or a Clemson fan. Who knows.:meh:

If it was a Clemson fan, then I am ashamed to be a fan.

I'll say this. What team is most associated with eggs?
 
I don't think you can say the guys are tired for a young team...any of us that played in high school and college or otherwise know what a full season entails. either you got it or you don't when it comes to mental toughness and focus..... Just like these rookie players or guys in NFL that make crappy open field tackles or don't keep their feet moving when coming off the line. Those are basic fundamentals that are taught over and over and over to every single kid playing football from Pee Wee up through College. They just get lazy and think they know better because of the hype they receive....

No matter the team...if they are already mentally or physically beat in late October...then they dont deserve it. Getting mentally tired at end of November is one thing...but not in October.
 
The blame falls on Steele. That man has never and probably never will know how to develop and execute a scheme against the triple option. Our guys' got outplayed and under coached.

Everyone that says we will be good the rest of the year better hope VT can stop the option, because we won't beat GT in a rematch at the ACCCG.

If I may stick my nose into your clubhouse.....

College ball is a funny thing. You guys are hating on GT just like I want to hate on UVA and Miami. If you look at GT's history, the Jackets never seem to be play well against either of these schools, and there is no reasonable explanation why a team like Miami always stops GT (even less reasons why GT always loses to Virginia). Clemson, on the other hand, has had several teams better than Miami or UVA over the years, yet GT seems to always play well against Clemson. We've had so many great Thursday night games it's silly, and the ACC championship game a couple years ago was great.

It's always easier to lose early in the season: you become less worried about things like Nat'l Championships, and it is easier to make up ground in the polls when other teams falter late in the season. 8-0 is really impressive, and you guys are still well-positioned to go to Miami and play some high stakes football. For some reason, the annual parity in the ACC makes us less favorable in the eyes of the national media - somehow having two powerhouses like in the SEC makes the entire conference better. :rolleyes:

Anyway - I'm not a Clemson fan by any means, but I understand your frustration. Thanks for letting me air my opinion in your thread - not too many chances to talk ACC football in Boulder and the Chat threads don't care....
 
If you don't mind some heavy trash talk, then the football thread you posted in over at Upstate is where it's at. Granted it gets pretty heavy over there. This is more of a Clemson love fest thread.:)

A potential 11-1 season with this young of a crowd.... I'll take it. Hell at the beginning of the season all I wanted was a winning season. Glad we have a week off to get some of these guys healthy and ready to play wake. I'll be there yelling as loud as I can just like every home game. If you aren't impressed with what they are doing up there then jump off the wagon.... I still bought season tickets after last years mess an will buy them after this year and so on. I truly bleed orange. Could care less about the coots I just want an ACC Championship

i agree with rking.
i will scream my head off these last games even if we were 1-8! i love clemson. so naturally i just hate to see us screw up. but this season is one for the books for sure regardless.
