Which Landcruiser model do you suggest for...

Hello
I'm an FJ40 owner in Boerne.
I may have a new job that would have me here and in Colorado, near Ft. Collins. I would need a basic model, with Automatic for my wife, to keep up there.
I'll make occasional trips into the hills, but mainly it's for getting around town. It needs to be reliable and I don't want to pour a bunch of money into it.
I like the 62 because I had a 60, but the age of the 62's may mean repairs.

What's the best value?

95-97 80 series or a 100. 80s can get a little maintnance heavy depending on miles and condition.

I agree. Or get a pickup with a crew or double cab with 4wd.

Probably a post '92 80 series, Jim, if you want an SUV. You'd probably get a better value on a used 4runner or pickup though.

I'd look at 3rd generation 4Runners...1996-2002.

My 1998 has 240K miles with no major problems.
