Which 200 would you buy?

I actually like the looks of the 08-11s better. (Don't like the chrome strips on the side of 13+ and something looks odd about the front bumper compared to earlier models.) I also like plain white the best on a Cruiser wagon and you can't get that color after 2011, only pearly, metallic white. The AC systems are so good in these things that it kind of takes away the need for cooled seats. The thing is blowing frigid air all over the place within a few seconds of starting after sitting in sunny 95 degree southern heat all day. Im not really into all the audio stuff, so I don't put much stock in that. Eventually, I will just have to get a 13+, but I will probably get the lowest mileage 2011 I can find before I do that.

BT is an easy and inexpensive adder.

I went down this road with my '05 E55; I ran a Bluetooth unit that I affixed to the dash (and then ran cables behind trim pieces) through to the aux input, and it was "OK" - but not great. Yes, inexpensive, but retrofitting this stuff to cars where it isn't integrated into the overall system is (in my experience) never as good as when it's part of the OEM system, whether said system is good or not.

The electronics in my -V are pretty bad/dated - they won't even talk to my iPhone over USB - but as they're all integrated, what choice do you have? If this is a 20-year truck, having the '13+ headunits with app support etc. should hopefully extend the usefulness of the on-board stuff.

Bluetooth for me is for phone calls...

The Bluetooth will work for your phone in all models, just not the music in earlier models.

Having said that, who cares, right? Get the newest one you can afford/justify! I haven't heard a single Mud member regret their purchase.

I really appreciate all the feedback! Bouncing ideas and the thought process behind this purchase is so much easier on here than in person. It is so hard for people to truly understand why the LC is awesome and that sometimes you spend money to save money in the long run. I truly believe this is one of those instances. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but am very close.

Well, I found my unicorn! Early Thursday morning around 4am, I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. After setting up my annual fantasy league's draft and doing some work stuff, I refreshed saved searches on AutoTrader and Cars.com. I thought my eyes were deceiving me in the early morning hours as I saw a black 2013 at a Toyota dealership in Houston. I called later in the morning and asked if a deposit could be put down for a 48 hour first right of refusal period and put a $5k cc deposit over the phone. I ended up taking it home! I asked the salesman when it got listed as I check daily and had not previously seen it online. He told me it was listed that morning. It was meant to be! It has already earned its keep as I live in south Louisiana where we had horrendous flooding yesterday. I was able to get out of the neighborhood where I drove, at one point, through 3+ feet of water. For reference, I traded in a Honda Accord that surely would have been totaled from water damage. The flooding pictures below are on my road where it was about 1.5'. After I turned off to the next road, it got way worse.
This got the wife on board right away with the new purchase, which as we all know, is a big deal.

Bluetooth for me is for phone calls, and the updated electronics matter as you can't switch them out. Cooled seats are a nice-to-have and as long as we're making big purchases, another 10k over the life of the truck isn't a big deal.

Edit: 2013s also come with HIDs, right? That's a huge deal for me. I really, really prefer HIDs at night. I also like to think some of the early kinks should be worked out on a low-mileage 2013, whereas I don't need to worry as much about wear items that I would otherwise be also looking at on an '08 etc.

On that note, tomorrow I should be finalizing a deal on a '13 CPO with just under 50k miles. Looking forward to joining the family!

Even 2008 has BT for phone...

For BT audio, I simply added a BT 12V plug that outs to the AUX for about $35 which works a charm. Does not interfere with linked phone via built-in BT, and has me never missing built-in BT audio. Truly works well! The 12V is conveniently located right above the AUX input, so it's just a few-inch wire away. Somehow, the vehicle is smart enough to run both phone BT, and this AUX BT without having to choose one over the other.

Congrats on the LC typehxr1!

I suppose now that you have yours I'll let the rest of the forum know - initially I asked Carmax to transfer a 2013 white/tan LC to my local (Colorado) dealer, but in the interim I decided on a truck with half the miles. The Carmax truck is still on its way, 94k miles, and they're asking $42,995 which is the lowest 2013 I have seen yet (although the also-CO 2013 listed just today here in the forums for 45k with fewer miles and mods is an even better deal!)

Anyway I have first right of refusal on the Carmax truck, and if any of you are interested in it when it hits my local dealer, let me know and I can get you the details.
