This would be a nice loop for GWNF.
Go up Friday Night.
Go to bottom of Big Levels and camp on trail (near bus), right off BRP past Charlottesville.
Then go up Big levels in the AM.
Then Loop around and come down Shoe Creek, then head back from there.
Did this map on Google, it knows about big level trail but not shoe creek so it stops at the top where the bathroom is.

Hows the trail rating? Id say Im an intermediate. the 80 is still stock but armored up with lockers. Im down for the trip sounds like a plan. Ill see if Dad wants to tag along. He's my trusty spotter!! What kinda camping? showers bathrooms?

The trails are both easy, stock friendly but have a few options to play here and there.
Both those trails are primitive , 1st come, camping. So no facilities.
If you want to do a campsite, I've stayed at Misty Mountain in Crozet a few times and its OK. Its 30 miles to the trail head.
So call it an Hour.
I can do either one.
If we do a campground, what time could you get up there on Fri?

Im off Friday....idk lunchtime?? I have class till 10 thurs night. Stock friendly is cool . But is that land cruiser stock or .....heep stock? lol. I watched some videos of heeps rolling backwards on easy what appeared to be just little pick your line and go spots. My rig walks over just about anything as long as I have the clearance or can do the 'ol slow turtle over without killing something. The Ipor skid has yet to be tested. As our last "stock " vehicle run barely cycled the suspension. Coulda made that stuff in the Tacoma pre runner my girl owns! And the guys I went with wanted to run the trail at 80 mph thus scaring any chance at all for wildlife sightings. We have low range for a reason!!!!

Both Big Levels and Shoe Creek are easy and could be done in 2WD unless wet.
Its the side roads that will get you.
I took my only real body damage to date on a side trail at shoe creek.
The reason I asked on when you would be leaving is that I'm working Friday and it could be after dark before I get up there. If we go with the Campsite, checking in earlier is always better.
I would say that I am 90% at this point. Once you know for sure, I can book a campsite if you want to go that route.
Also, we may want to post up on the other VA pages to see if anyone wants to come out for the ride.

A day trip to GWNF makes for a long day. Its got to be 8 or 9 hrs just on the highway.
If just doing Sat, maybe a Corolla run would be the best bet.
Its supposed to be around 80.
I'm certainly up for that.

id be down but Corolla is still a six hour round trip
I might go if the trip is in Corolla. I'll take the Tacoma this time.

Had a good run down to Corolla. The Horses were out in force. Must have seen 100 or more on the surf alone.
