Ok, I'm not wanting to bling :grinpimp: my wheels. Here's the deal, with the limited options for wheels on our trucks, I'm looking to buy/trade my OEM 18" rims for some OEM 16". To freshen up a boring look on them, I'm thinking of having them polished (no chrome) out and then clear coated for durability. So the questions I have:

Has anyone done this and if so how did you like the results? How much $$$ should be looking at to have this done. Can anyone recommend a shop or contact?

As always thanks in advance!

I've had other wheels polished besides my LX wheels. Where is your location? I would only do it if you live in a fairly dry area. I would guess the LX wheels to be in the $150-200 range each around here. It has 10 spokes and will need to be done with a small wheel. The centercaps won't match since they are plastic. The closest match would be to get chrome caps.

All in all, I don't think it's worth it. If you still want to trade, I have some LX 16's.

I have a set of chrome 16's LC wheels if you are interested.

Hoser,

You seem to have all the answers! LOL.. Back to the answer, I'm actually down in the Santa Cruz area, where about in the Bay Area are you? Hmm.. the $150-200 each is a little steep  I'm not quite sure if I just want to buy a 2nd set or do a trade. I'll P.M you if I want to take you up on the offer.

I'm in SF. Here's what a $300/wheel polish job looks like. The 3-piece wheel was disassembled to get all the nooks and crannies. Every face and window on the wheel was polished. No clear coat. 20 spokes in all. I know... Bling-Bling.

Those were old wheels I had on a long time ago on my NSX. I've since switched to these SSR 3-piece wheels. Here's my "G-money" shot. The center sections have this sort of smokey graphite finish. I'm not sure how they did it but it's not powdercoated.

The new wheels look great too. The first ones are one of my favorite styles of wheels. On the right car they look fantastic. But damn, they are hard to keep clean. I would never put that style of wheel on any vehicle that goes off-road. Too much dirt in all those little openings, and I am too lazy to clean them properly.

Do you still have the crome factory is so what kinda of condition are they in and how much $ can you also post any pics
