Every where I drive my cruiser I'll have someone strike up a conversation in a parking lot, which I enjoy . But lately its gotten wierd tuesday a guy argued with me about whether they ever imported my type of "jeep' to the USA. Today I had a guy ask if it was a "jeep" made by ford for WW2. What's the wierdest thing that you've heard ?:)

I drive a 60 series so I usually get......... those Broncos will go anywhere....or thats a good lookin Land Rover......occasionally I will get "whos blue jeep is outside?"........Occasionally I get a "Who makes the Land Cruiser?" I understand the last one since the old ones aren't that popular here in southern MO as most of the residents are GMC/Chevy/Ford/Dodge drivers.

Edit: for years my dad, who is an avid Toyota driver thought that the Land Rover was just another model of Land Cruiser like the 40 series or 60 series.

While in High School Derrick wrote on the hood in BIG letters NADA JEEP! I recently had him write the same on the rear of my 40. And he just got done drawin flames on the hood of his and a small nada jeep.
I also pickd up a sticker out at the T-Shirt shop in Moab, I'm a Cruiser not a Looser!
Course sometimes I'll pull up to an unknown Cruiser owner an say "Nice Jeep!"
I also said to a nicely built flat fender owner "How Cute! It looks like a mini Land Cruiser!" Lest I thought it was funnay!

Closest I've come is a few people calling my 80 a Land Rover. What's worse is its the same two people that I have to keep correcting. One of them now calls it a 4Runner, I guess that's better but I'm having a hard time understanding how its so hard to remember its a Land Cruiser.

Guys, Ford made the GPW which was a WW2 jeep made under government contract. I think that the original FJ(I'm not sure which number) was called a jeep untill it was settled in court the "Jeep" belonged to the american company that was making them at that time. I think it must have been Willys.

Gonna miss you Chef

I hate when I'm talking about our 4-wheelin' trips and everyone keeps calling them jeeps instead of the oh-so-awesome Cruiser. I keep having to lecture them every time!!

I hear Defender, Land Rover, and Jeep almost every time I take a cruise on the street.

My favorite so far happend last week. One of my contractors has spent most of his life in New Mexico. He's an avid 4wheeler (atv's) and expedition camper, and has owned several jeep cj's and early bronco's. He saw my 40 for the first time last week and said "I didn't know Toyota made Jeeps! Did you have to import it?".
