What is everyone asking for Christmas?
Me, I am asking for a ARB tire deflator and a custom fixed blade bushcraft knife(like I need another knife). Some other small odd and end things that are cheap.

Which one? I have looked at the Dan Koster Bushcraft but don't have 2 large at the moment. Instead I am just going to get a Ka-BAR Lg. Heavy Bowie knife until I can save up.

On to your question. I am getting an IPAD, along with some SOG knives, and pocket survival stuff.

I;m also getting some survival stuff as usual. Im asking for some Exotac stuff.
This guy making me the knife only make a few hear and there. His name is J.Oester on a knife forum. His work is almost identical to Fiddleback Forge. He just made this sheath for me for my Fiddleback Bushfinger.
HE also rehandled my Busse CABS and made a sheath for it too. It's the one tha's sheath that has dimples on it and the Bushfinger is the first set of pic.

I was about to ask what is that company that makes the bottle opener that Ron has attached to his bumper... I need one! but can't remember the company! that was i want

Jeremy,
Depending on which size blade you want I would look at the ESEE 4 or 6. American made, best damn warranty in the business and very reasonable. The guys who make the knives actually sure them and teach survival school in the Amazon. they are very very much respected in the knife and survival industry.

Here a few he made for some friends. He kept the brown burlap for himself. They are made from 01 steel and a friend of his has beat the ever living snot out of it and it still cuts through wood like butter.

I like those. Randall designed the RAT-7 and a few others for Ontario Knife company. I like his personal stuff better since they warranty them, however you pay about 25% more for the actual ESEE knife over the Ontario.

If I can find a 6" for around $125 I might go that route. Which camp knife do you carry most Brock?

Oh, and Mike do you wear Ostrich skin boots in the brush with those knives?

JEremy

im asking for a sweet marmot tent:
Halo 4P | Marmot Clothing and Equipment
its a 4 person tent, easy setup, really nice features like a vestibule and two doors and such.

i also want a new camping lantern since "mayhem happened" to mine.
and one of those vintage camping stoves too.

should make camping with the 4runner even sweeter.:bounce:

I use all my knives with the exception orf my Mammoth ivory and Bark. The guys warrant those knives and encourages everyone to use them. Actually, just about every knife maker hates it when their knives don't get used and are safe queens. Most of the knives I have can be sent to the makers for their "spa treatment" and they will make it look new again and sharpen it for just a few bucks. Well, if the knife is coated then it can't be done.
Jeff Randall owns ESEE -6 for $100 on knife forums sometimes, new. If you buy the 6 from a retailer they are about $125. The ESEE-4 and love them. I would kike the 6 though or the 5. The 5 is a beast.
Oh and one more thing. Jeff Randall owned RAT knives, now ESEE, not Ontario. You will not get the service and quality from Ontario that you will from ESEE. I believe Ontario pretty muchg has shriveled up.I know Jeff Randall and have hung with him a few times and he is a stand up guy. His persoanlity fits in perfectly with people like us, well, maybe not you.

Hey, if you can't hate on rich people what's the point of living, right. You should be flattered that people are jealous.

I was about to buy a cheap KA-BAR or even an Ontario but you guys and this site has manged, as usual, to extract more money out of my pocket.

Also, did you guys know that Charleston and other city limits prohibits carrying concealed any knife over 3"? The state has no limits except on school grounds, and you can carry any knife open or concealed, however in the city limits of Charleston it states no concealed knives over 3". Guess you can still walk around with a 6" bush knife on your side though.

Columbia is funny. They don't allow any "sheathed" knives at all. Damn commi city.

That's weird. I did not know that. I carry a 3" knife mostly anyway. The reason why it is weird is because I have 2 friends in the city Police force. One is the head of investigations and he other is the head of traffic. I recently asked them this question and they told me it was fine for me to carry my 4" folder.
When did they initiate this law in Charleston?

Not sure,it's in there municode website. Municode - Search

I think CWP holders are excempt, however if you read the definition of "weapon" in our laws for CWP it states that it only applies to a 12" or smaller handgun. Kind of a gray area.

Municipal codes are usually add-on offenses. Like if you are drunk and disordaly and you get arrested, they can add on a charge for having a 4" folder in your pocket. I wouldn't worry about it. Just know it's on the books before you curse out a cop over the law.;)

With that said, Columbia claims to have a law against sheathed knives in th ecity limits, but I carry a large blade all the time after fishing/hunting around and have no problems.

Jeremy

Those knives are for bushcraft. Now if I want to cut through a steel drum, hammer through concrete ect ect...... I use this.
