Dear TLCA Directors,

What is the TLCA doing to promote responsible land use and how can the members help?

What is the TLCA doing to keep our public lands open? We are a large organization and our voice should be heard.

Who is the TLCA Director in charge of Land Use issues? How can we help you?

Is the TLCA a member of the BRC? United 4 Wheel? Any partnerships with pro-access groups?

Thank you for answering some or all of my inquiries.

Calamari:
We have a Land Use Committee, chaired by Greg Mumm, and assisted by Jeff Zepp and Kurt Williams. Greg just got elected as the new Executive Director of the Blue Ribbon Coalition, which is great news for both he, and TLCA. Greg has been at the forefront of responsable land use issues, and representing TLCA for a long time now. We have a land use section at tlca.org, and a column devoted to land use issues in Toyota Trails. TLCA belongs to Blue Ribbon, United, and Tread Lightly. This is an issue that we take seriously, though we are working to make our involvement more visible.
What else do you want to know?

"This is an issue that we take seriously, though we are working to make our involvement more visible."

This is what I was wondering, it's great to see a group with a membership base of 3,000+ being so involved. It makes sense for TLCA to be more "visible" too. Hopefully more of the TLCA members will participate in this section of the forum, since it is the most important issues facing off-roaders today.

I couldn't be happier to hear that the new Executive Director of the BRC (my favorite organization) is also a member of TLCA! Kudos to Greg Mumm:cheers:

Thanks for answering my questions!

So here is the BRC media release from Sept. 29:

Good luck Greg!

POCATELLO, ID (September 29) -- At their September 23-24 Fall Board Meeting, the BlueRibbon Coalition Board selected Greg Mumm to replace current Executive Director Clark Collins when he retires at the end of this year. "I've really enjoyed leading the BlueRibbon Coalition to our current level of credibility and prestige," said Collins. "It's been a lot of fun and a big challenge. Now, I'm looking forward to helping Greg take it to the next level."

Jack Welch, Blue Ribbon Board Chairman, affirmed "The Board reviewed a field of outstanding candidates from across the country and selected Board member Greg Mumm as the best person to fill the Executive Director position. BlueRibbon continues to have a bright future, and Greg will provide the leadership to grow the Coalition's resources for years to come."

Incoming Executive Director, Greg Mumm, is an avid off-highway-vehicle enthusiast from South Dakota and has served in a leadership capacity in the Toyota Land Cruisers Association for many years. Concerning his future with BRC, Greg stated, "I am excited about this opportunity to take the helm of the BlueRibbon Coalition. Clark Collins is turning over a solid organization with a top-shelf staff around which I can continue to expand the BRC sphere of influence. We have lots to do on behalf of over 600,000 good folks across this nation and I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and get started."
