Refurbed the turn signals. Replaced lenses, seals, hardware and mounting grommet. Color changed from OEM gray to black to match color scheme accents of the build. SEM prep and paint products rock.

Today I riveted a piece of sheet metal over a small hole in the passenger floorboard and painted the floorboard after a good cleaning. Forgot the pcs, sorry. Then I continued the sound deadening project. Got the panel under the back seat and passenger side done. Next week the driver side and rear floorboard.
BTW…I “painted” the floorboard with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator after cleaning off any dirt and loose rust .

Because the previous owner had drilled a big hole for one, and only the screws were left. So I put a new one on with the same mounting points. Not attached to anything currently. All for looks at this point.

Yep, in the mid '70s everybody had to have a CB and there is precious little flat sheet metal to mount the antenna on a 40

So much fiberglass work, sanding and painting! Blouie has a repainted top (minus gun rack drilled through the roof!)… still some interior-drip rail rust work, seam sealer and headliner…

Actually, no trouble at all. I'm prepared for the worst. I have used almost two cans of 14oz glue. Start from the center and move to the back, sides, and front.

My scout p/s steering box started leaking out the steering shaft input seal. I figured it was time rebuild/reseal it. So far, no more leaking.

How did you loosen the large lock nut that’s around the input shaft of the Scout II steering box? It’s roughly 2.5” or so.

I wanted to nip the leak in the bud. The leak was starting to make a mess. Fortunately I haven't had to deal with a leaking pump yet. I do have several old pumps scattered around the shop. One of my future projects is to make a cooler out of some 3/8 metal line for it. My hoses are pretty short. Right now I'm working on a leaking master cylinder. I had to buy a new one, the bore of the old one was too pitted.

I found that P/S hoses from a ‘79 Scout (ordered from Rock Auto) were almost perfect to connect my Scout II steering box to my Saginaw pump. I’ve got early style brackets that mount it to the side of a long water pump on my SBC.
