I've got an aluminium tank in mine under all the front seats, gives me about 120L.
Seen a few long range tanks around if you're willing to deviate from original.

I'm living in Brazil, I was looking for some other tanks, but there is not so much avail. There is a Aux-Tank which will be installed underneath the car, but I already have a Inox-Exhaust-System there.
The tank over the whole front seats would be cool, never saw this down here.

There is a original Version under the driver seat with 63L for the Bandeirantes after 93. But my '89 has there the Battery-Box.

I'm gonna think about it, let's see. On the other Hand: I have a canister on the rack in the back and place for another two in the car behind the rear-seats. And the cases, that I really run out of fuel are selden.

Mine came from South Africa and it looks a bit hand made, but is very solid - I guess you could get similar made there.
It's welded aluminium plate. I don't have a good photo, but this is what it looked like when I received it - its been cleaned, replumbed, and had a new sender fitted since then though!
If you go down that route then I'd add plenty of baffling inside - you don't need 100+kg of fuel sloshing around when you corner/brake.

I had to move my engine over to center to make room for the power steering pulley and shaft clearance and now the passenger side head is too close to the firewall for my comfort. So now I get to move everything forward an inch or so to make some room. And yes, the engine and crossmember mounts are welded in like it’s was going to the moon. Probably for the best.

Sand Hollow outside of St. George UT. All my “trail rigs” need work, so i took the creampuff. Put the tall skinny 35’s on it in lieu of the wide 37’s, and i dont think they are coming back off. So much easier to steer, drive, stop, get into….cant deny the look of the stock steelies either. Cant wait to bring the cralwer out here after some much needed attention and upgrades.

Could have used some more horsepower in the sand, but she made it to top of the world. All stock except spring over, tires, and wilwood front discs..

Very impressive getting her all the way up to the top of the world! I’ve been up there 4 or 5 times in a RZR and there is some deep sand in spots. Well done in a 40!!!

We had to “ride” the dunes up the hill, keeping momentum and going across them versus trying to drive straight up. The ol’ F engine and 3 spd didnt let me down!

Pretty impressed with these Kanati mud hogs, very compliant and soft tread, gave a nice wide contact at 15 psi offroad. Maybe not great for longevity, but they have me thinking some 37’s or 39’s are in my future for one of the bigger rigs.

some of this weeks high points in between rolls of packing tape ….

Sometimes taking tape off a box 📦 is a special time to reflect and , times like this is say in my head , Oh me Oh my …. 😎

-
- I got my first batch of reproduction NETS for the FJ40 HVAC ducts at the fire wall ,

- My long standing SOLID Brass OEM Reproducton Radatior Drain tube has seen an almost a solid decade in service and never once a call back or service life issue ….

- I pipe dreamed up a true SNOW VERSION heavy duty late model wiper switch , I replaced the crappy NON-LATCHING connector plugs with a OEM Yazaki Japan locking click tab so they don’t wiggle and vibrate loose and arc to the wiper motor , it WILL come with a harness side mating matching buddy and terminals as Always , BUT will work as is with the existing non locking and you can simply de-pin your harness side also if u like and just add my LOCKING tab female in your 40 and 55 too ,,,,
I also applied OEM clear YAZAKI switch wrap , it’s standard on l
My professionaly restored pull switches , now it’s also standard on ALL my new OEM pull switches too !

All my pull switches have a OEM KNOB option they can come with , period correct originals , and a NEW aluminum pin wrench nut too !

Or

Plain switch if you like ….

This whole school of though will be expanding as the holidays get closer

I plan every single pull switch and knob combo both NOD and my reproductions as well and professionally restored , I will have I all and it will be CLEARY spelled out and defined as Always

The ultra late modle translucenct DIESEL fuel door decal is been a long long time in my head , so here. It is , happy thoughts here !!

Oh ?

The COLD SPEC, SNOW VERSION ignion coil cap cover is alive once again and looking like a super duper Star NipponDenso

We didn't get north of Washington this year. Base camp is in South Royalton. Maybe next year we will venture farther up north.
Is this the area? Maybe the blue trail?View attachment 3454676
That is one of the roads that cuts thru…if you do go north…Start on Rt 58 in Montgomery center and then cut of where your intersection is listed for Irish Rd if it gets too wet. if your really into it…head up 118 a few miles , maybe 3, and make a right into what is called …the Gibou. It is a series of great logging paths, beaver dams and swamp… you will not be disturbing these areas but you can enjoy the view and the ride… if you head back to 118 into Montgomery, continue up 242 to Jay Peak and check out the Foliage this time of year and enjoy a tram ride to the top… damn, i’d go with you!!

Oh ….

Forget this little rascal …

This is the vacuum hose bib port ( DART ) for the vacuum t case

It’s Mounted on the pass fire wall sticking straight out , it’s in stainless steel reproduction process now …

It has another KOOL use too , either the booster or PCV hose can hitch up to it and it has the common intake manifold JIS pipe taper super fine threads …

I started a project to raise my driver seat 2” on my FJ40. Of course it got more involved than that so I’m right now cleaning the upholstery. These seats are in great shape but I never found anything that would clean them until now. What a difference.

Spent a few hours preparing to decapitate the 2F. Found water in the exhaust last week and water in the oil after pulling the valve cover today. Hoping it's just a blown head gasket and not a cracked head. Execution has been temporarily stayed unfortunately. Need to beef up and perfect my electric ceiling hoist tomorrow then it's "off with your head" time!

Went to my first Yankee Toys Fall Gathering at Field & Forrest in New Hampshire. Great “stock plus” trail runs but all the rain made it challenging. Truck ran great getting there at 60-65MPH on highway for 150 miles each way.

Decided to adjust valves after trip and then tuned carb using lean drop method.
