Put the hard top back on and took the family for a couple beers. Well, not the kids, I don’t need anyone saying I’m a bad parent for letting them have a couple beers. They just split 1. View attachment 3451141

Tell daughter on the left in England that is not the peace sign. ;)

I had to look that up. She does have a little bow set….

No Pictures, but little things:

-> I found some debris in the prefilter for the diesel-pump (tiny glas-cup with a filter inside, used on the mercedes-engines)
I removed and cleaned it and found out, that there A LOT of debris, I guess from corrosion in the tank.

I changed the prefilter and the two normal fuel filters, both already a little bit dark. And I flushed the fuel tank. The old diesel was pretty dark/dirty.
Later I also found, that the tank only holds about 47Liters of diesel -> for a 4Liter-Engine

I most probably will change the tank to a plastic-Version with 55Liters, that's the maximum for the original position possible.

I've got an aluminium tank in mine under all the front seats, gives me about 120L.
Seen a few long range tanks around if you're willing to deviate from original.

@FJmaine not sure if you’re ever in northern Vt, Rt 58 off of 118 known as Hazen’s Notch. It’s closed from November thru May usually … great run towards Lowell.
these photos are from 1975.

I'm living in Brazil, I was looking for some other tanks, but there is not so much avail. There is a Aux-Tank which will be installed underneath the car, but I already have a Inox-Exhaust-System there.
The tank over the whole front seats would be cool, never saw this down here.

There is a original Version under the driver seat with 63L for the Bandeirantes after 93. But my '89 has there the Battery-Box.

I'm gonna think about it, let's see. On the other Hand: I have a canister on the rack in the back and place for another two in the car behind the rear-seats. And the cases, that I really run out of fuel are selden.
