Installed some oem Toyota steering stabilizer goodness this evening. Couldn’t believe the original pins and castle nuts came off in one piece. OTC tool kit made it pretty easy, which I used on the tie rod ends earlier this summer also. No affiliation with otc.

FYI: WD40 has many uses… inside locks is not a good use for it. WD40 gums up locks and causes problems. 10/10 locksmiths agree WD40 is not good lock lubricant!
Solid advice. I’ve been using a dry graphite based lube on the lock(s), door/hood hinges ETC..ETC.
Cleaned her up today. Took an evening stroll. Weather very comfortable before this hurricane moves in. 50 miles and the sniper hasn’t missed a beat

Added a grab handle so the copilot has something to hang onto.
Used it to pull up some metal edging along part of my yard.
Then left it parked out there while I did some other stuff. I think I might go camping next weekend along a secret river to do some fishing.

First tune up since the Rubithon, which was very taxing on both driver and vehicle. Pig even over heated a bit one day. So, waited for the shade of the trees, warmed it up, shut it down, pulled the valve cover and adjusted valves, put some new glue on the cork valve cover gasket, pulled the sparkplugs (they looked awful. Oil-fouled mostly, and they were new a month before Rubithon. Valve seals?) Borrowed a compression tester because i don't trust my harbor freight compression testers, did a compression test, don't trust those numbers either because it's also from harbor freight but it still had it's plastic box. Cleaned up the plugs and put them back in. Started it up and checked the timing, I'll leave it at 18BTDC for now.

Had my ‘78 in a show back in 2017. I didn’t win anything but it garnered loads of attention. Funny as the guy who won his wife kept bringing her friends over to my rig and saying “this looks like tons of fun””, I am sure her husband appreciated that
My 30 yr old weber that has over 300k on it puked gas all over my engine
Love the smell of burning gas on the header in the early morning
Replaced the needle valve with a new I had laying around … appart and back together again in 15 minutes
I think I replaced it once before like 9-10 years ago

It is so simple to tune and parts are so available that I wonder why many mudders seem to struggle with them. I'm getting good mileage, too.
I recall the same experience when I swapped to a Holley long ago on my previous 1970 40. More power and better mileage but to be fair,
both Cruisers had a header. If my current '63 had an original carb when I got it I would have tried to rebuild and optimize that. But it didn't.

Installed @thecrazygreek ’s amp. Works great, sync’s quick to phone and with just a single 4x6 in the factory mount, it’s plenty loud for me. I’ll probably find a place to put the other 4x6 I have, just havent decided where. Whipped up a couple connectors so it all works with the factory connectors and no one is the wiser aside from the Bluetooth knob. Even used the factory spade on cigarette lighter for a ground, it really is a neat way to have audio and not have an ugly radio in the dash.

Those are leftovers from cycle terminal - had a bunch when I used to wire up motorcycles. Once I'm out of them, I'm ordering Yazaki stuff since it matches the factory sheaths. Eastern Beaver is a good resource for it, haven't looked around in a while to see who else sells Yazaki by the bulk.
