What did you work on tonight?

3/16, 1/4, 1/2. The plate that bolts to the frame horns is 1/2”, the shackle mounting points are 1/2”. The winch plate is 1/4” or thicker (can’t remember). Skin & wings are all 3/16”. It’s a stout kit for sure. Front bumper is probably 100-125lbs. Rear bumper close to the same.
Thanks for the info. That's not a bumper. It's armor! 😊 Younger folks getting tools out and making stuff is great to see.

Installing a much better, all metal, beefy radiator on the 22rse project (pardon the vulgarity). The old radiator was on its last leg. Whack-a-Mole fix a leak, spring a different leak.

Vulgarity easily remedied by adding a fresh turbo (22rtse) 😁

Helped daughter and her friend yank an engine out of a Legacy GT. She wanted the turbo engine for her WRX which has a blown turbo engine. All kinds of choice words came out from under the car against Subaru's way of making hardware hard to access and remove!

Putting the tow rig to work - the 1FZFE wishes it could tow things like this .

Mines got a 390 with zero compression in 1 of the cylinders lol!
The one I have runs great. 3 on the tree already swapped to a 4 speed. Lots of body work though.

They leave about an inch or inch & a half between the frame rail and valve cover. Ask me how I know…
she's gonna do the valve cover gaskets on her mom's Outback and she's about to find out how crappy this space is. I can't wait! I used to have a SVX and it was same gap. Changing the spark plugs and valve cover gaskets were a nightmare.

Some might remember this little guy from a 2018 or 2019 Gila National Forest trip and the wheel falling off! Lol... it had been parked for about 4yrs once i got a different rtt on the fj. And the wooden box started to rot. But! Slowly bringing it back for light duty trail duty.. New aluminum box and several more items on the list to be trail ready again. Axle housing and hibs were upgraded after the wheel fell off lol

I am stuck in some sort of motor swap purgatory. I have a lean fuel issue that has stumped many professional and amateur techs.

Is there anyone in the club that owns a Land Cruiser , Lexus or 4runner that has a 2uz VVTI engine that runs good who will allow me to read the ecu with Techstream, so can capture data from a healthy running engine. I will bring you beer or another drink option for your help.

Picture, so it is not so boring. Ignore the caped ports, part of the trouble shooting.

Sorry, both of of the 2UZ at my house are pre-VVTI '99 100-series.

I might be able to record some info on Techstream from my wife's GX470, but I don't know if it would help. It has long tube headers and no cats.

I had to come back and add. That is a beautiful install!

@Tank5 I have read somewhere that the later 100 series with VVTI use a different fuel pump than earlier models. Almost like they are a two speed pump.

If you could take pictures of the different screens you can see when you are watching all the systems in live data after the vehicle is warmed up. This is exactly what I am looking for. That is I assume your gx470 is VVTI.

This swap I installed DT headers and also deleted the cats, so what you have is probably closer than a stock rig.

@Mauser and @pappy Thanks for the compliments on the install. There are a few things to clean up but I am waiting until it is running right to finish it.

I have heard this before. The way this pump is wired it is triggered by ecu and runs at one speed. That speed maintains the fuel pressure at 44-45 at idle and under load which where it should be from what I have read. I am using a pump from a non-VVTI 2uz.
