Looks like there's a story to tell...
We found the same problem. The bolt was flattened by the shock in our case.chasing this mystery clunk thinking it’s a 70k mile ball joint or FUBAR 270k mile control arm bushings cause it couldn’t be the < 4000 mile shock bushing. But of course that’s what it is, that’s the last thing I touched

Ran the engine for a few minutes. It idles well and makes excellent forced induction noises when the right pedal is pressed.![]()
Congrats on getting the engine started! I'm curious as to how are you planning on "tuning" the ECU? I'm assuming it's an OEM ECU, so is there a piggy back ECU that you'll be tuning?Installed a wideband oxygen sensor so I can tune my supercharged engine. Drilled the appropriate size hole in the exhaust tube, welded on the threaded bung, then screwed in the O2 sensor.

Great question! A philips head screwdriver for AFR adjustment and 12mm spanner for timing. Toyota setup the ECU. This is rudimentary fuel injection that has met my needs thus far. The wideband O2 sensor and data logger are independent, making the system mobile.Congrats on getting the engine started! I'm curious as to how are you planning on "tuning" the ECU? I don't know if I'm done yet. I have a fresh turbo that's feeling lonely. You need a 22RSE sticker for the front of that valve cover now
good score. Do you still have the original LCA bushings? If so, you might want to take this opportunity to replace them with a fresh set of bushings and hardware. Mine are Superpro double offset bushings https://superpro-suspension.com/us/search/popular-parts-for-2003-toyota-4runner-sport It was nice to be able to dial in my caster and my camber to my own specs.Grabbed these from a feller in Corrales for my 4th gen 4R. They were kinda rough. Complete rebuild done by me yesterday, just waiting on misalignment spacers as the ones that were with it got trashed.
Alignment will be interesting since I have a cam delete kit. If anyone wants my clapped out SPC UCA’s for cheap once they come off let me know, they will need bushings (axis retrofit would be best) and ball joints, maybe $400ish in parts? Haven’t really looked.

I actually replaced with Whiteline. I did a whole bunch of stuff at once. LCA bushings, TC alignment tab gussets, the cam delete kit. I forget what else.good score. It's not as nice as what you saw in Alaska, but these are the cheap seats. You guys are killing me. Crazy aurora pics from Tuscon, east mountains, Placitas. I'm getting squat in ABQ with the light pollution. I saw a pic from Denver, and it's off the chart.
