Other questions were asked in previous posts. Any more details? Some other, simpler work: replacing these crusty things and wires.View attachment 3998903
Yikes dude, that's a scary sight. Can you figure out if those particles are ferrous (magnetic) or alum?I had some tasty treats waiting for me that had collected inside the drain plug.

The oil itself didn't feel gritty... I'm wondering what this could be. Was avoiding taking off the oil pan but it's inevitable.
Great question! Tough to tell what the chunks are made of.Yikes dude, that's a scary sight. Can you figure out if those particles are ferrous (magnetic) or alum?
Strange. A quick search says the 2UZ HG is SS with Viton Rubber, this looks more like a felt gasket material.I got a weird one here. This fibrous collection was found under the radiator cap in the 2uz-fe engine. This engine does have a blown head gasket and I've been driving it after adding Barr's HG fix elixir in the coolant system. Any idea where this could've come from? When the HG blew, there was volcanic eruptions in the overflow tank and cyl #3 misfire was happening. All of this stopped after the addition of the magic elixir but this stuff started to appear. This isn't part of the HG itself is it? The elixir doesn't have any fiberous material in it, only Cu or Alum flakes.

I seem to recall a mat under the hood doe heat/noise that had a fiber like that. Is it possible to fell from there?I got a weird one here. That's black though isn't it?I seem to recall a mat under the hood doe heat/noise that had a fiber like that. Is it possible to fell from there?
The outer part was, but not sure it was all that color. I'm just going off memory on the hundy, and mine had begun to disengrate. That's black though isn't it?
Agreed, I meant is it possible you opened the top, and a piece fell in, you know, when you walked away to have a beer, once you popped the hood and the cap.Hood liner can't end up inside the coolant system unless I introduced it!!
Sweet!
