Starting a new thread for people in the Texas Panhandle to post what they did with their Toyota(s) today. This should be a good way for Panhandle Cruiser's to get aquainted with our rigs and each other. Let us know if you worked on it :wrench:, drove it to Pak a Sak :steer:, had issues with it :bang:,went to Palo Duro and hiked or cooked out etc. FYI those that may not know, you can also subscribe to the threads and get e-mail notifictions of new and updated posts, later all

Busted rust and undercoat off my frame, wish I had and extra $500, i'd get it sandblasted and powdercoated, oh well another week or so of hard work and I should be ready for some por-15 and chassis black and then on to the body, did I say a week? maybe 2-3

I didnt get much done today due to the wind, I will say it was a good week for the lil yota. In the last three days i installed longfields & mounted up a set of 36" irocs on beadlocks. I have been planing on doing a bit of testing this weekend before i put the MTRs back on for DD duty.

i have already went out and got a game plan for today , I still have a motor mount I need to shorten the stud on , It hitts the header.. I will be figureing out my linkage on my t/case and now have a p/s leak on my wifes 80 to look at as well .. I will see how much I can get done with all the unimportant stuff my wife wants done too ... bbs

Hey John, we know a guy who has a mobile sand/soda blast set-up that he can drive right to your house and clean that frame up for you. I couldn't be for sure but I would bet it wouldn't be $500. Quartknee knows him better than I do and can maybe fill you in a little better if you were wanting to go down that road.

As for me, I sold off my utility trailer and picked up a car hauler trailer as my fj40 no longer fits between the rails of a utility.

I would consider it if it was under $200 , this would get it clean enough to put metal ready and por-15 on it before I chassis black it,just want it clean and sound for another 5 or so years before I really restore it, dont want to put thousands into paint and body work (which it does add up quick) wouldnt mind having the inside of my tub blasted either

picked up my hood, doors, fender aprons, front bib, headlight bezel and assorted hinges from the sandblaster this evening, cleaned them up pretty good for 40 year old sheet metal, but really showed up all the dents and dings and wrinkles, flat olive drab or desert tan is starting to look pretty good for a paint job, instead of months of smoothing for that shiny paint job

I got that enormous rack off the back of the Tercel and the front rackoff aswell .. It did take a few blades but eventually I got all off .. All of the old brake lines are now gone , some of the old tabs and brackets and whatnots got buzzed off too .. Did I mention a few blades !! I took picts , I just need to be in the office to DL them . I am also going to need a P/S pump for a early 80s 350 and the brackets too .. Anyhow I got some direction on this wagon of mine from a few good guys now and am going to be looking for some parts really soon .. ( a new thread soon, maybe !! ... PARTS ...) Anyhow , we will all be wheeling soon with far more superior rigs than them'' other guys''
So THANKS for all the help guys ...

hey John , Last we heard you got all of your sheet metal back, And then you vanished, We want to see what you are doing !! check in with us buddy..And show us some picts !!!! For me I am working on the fuel cell issue so we can remove the body lift.. I am very close to having the springs I need for the front and rear of the Tercel .. Mudwizzard is checking on a p/s pump and I will have some goodies on the way soon .. As far as the wifes Fj80 all of the suspension stuff is still in boxes , I have been working on replacing water and vaccum hoses and lines , The bottom rad. hose should be in tomorrow so that should be done soon ..( Awsome Bill has been a tremendious help!! ) I will post some picts when she is more complete.. I got some shop time with jdp fab so alot shold start to happen soon .. I will keep you posted !!

still a few little details to wrap up, but i got the radiator, coolant res, electronics, and other stuff mounted last night. I still need to get the hood and grill mounted, PS res and a coat of paint.

So I have looked at the pictures like a dozen times , and have decided to finally reply with my feelings in tact, Yours is cooler than mine !! It looks kinda savage and sweet ! Nice job !! I am going to PM you too !! So I finally got my fuel cell mounted and the new lines ran . Awsome Bill mentioned reccessing it in the spare tire compartment and I did . It was a ton of work but well worth it. When it is covered back with the carpet and all, you will never know it was there . (Room for more tools) I will start the roofrack next !!
I am still looking for a sbc powersteering pump , 63 " chevy 1/2 ton springs and some good offroad lights , and some other goodies !!
Anyhow tommorrow I hope to install tach and guages, trim the fuelcell hatch, mount the onboard air..Im still pushing for the fourth of July jamboree being the tercells first wheeling expidition So !! I will post pictts tomorrow .

My son and I went out and found some MUD to play in... he was all smiles. So was I.

Now that was fun! My wheelin itch is officially scratched.

Im ready to do it again...:hhmm:

If you need your stuff blasted I can pm you Cody's number. I don't know what he would charge but I would be it would around 200.

I did a little mod on the yota today. One link and air shocks. Got rid on the leafs.
