Hacked up a non-winch ARB bumper to accept a Warn Zeon 12-S. I plan to add a snap-on canvas cover to hide the 24" x 5" hole in the top surface of the bumper. The hawse fairlead hangs down more than I would like, but that's as good as I could get it. I added a 1/4" plate between the bumper and winch, which should do a good job distributing the loads.

I still need to smooth some of the cuts so I can get the bumper powder coated again. The bottom edges were pretty chewed up by the prior owners so it was due.

PS - Sorry for the link. I can't wait until I have a high enough post count to include photos.

Started a swing out build ....

Step one

And then with the lack of steel we skipped ahead to step six a few times and after the ideas started flowing (some molten) we decided to put the metal melter away.

Traded out the skimpy but oak slats for some fence boards on the con-ferr. We will see how long these last. The are stained and sealed.

I think my 80 was getting jealous of all the time I have been spending with my 60. So let my 80 take us out to a new beach for a late afternoon snorkel and sunset.

This ear to ear grin was from all the sea turtles popping their head out of the water that I got to go snorkel/swim with! Wish I would have had my underwater camera.

Is that paradise cove? I was there last weekend, nice protected beach.

Valve Cover Gasket and spark plug seals, then Simpe Green clean the engine. No more leaks!

Lousy photo of a killer product. Got my Wits End fire extinguisher bracket on Friday. Simple, but very effective, like everything Joey sells. Ok, maybe Joey doesn't view the R&D as simple because he clearly is focused on getting it right before selling it. That's the sign of a great product IMO, just being clean and simple for the customer. I also got one of his hoodies but my wife told me not to post the selfie I took in it because I wasn't wearing pants. :P

Installed my TaticalAnt MOLLE panel. The quality is top notch and fits like a glove. Took me longer to find my awl that to install. Not much to add to the installation, the above description and pics say it all. LOVE IT! Now I need to fill it up!

Installed some 1" spacers in the back. Had to pick up some taller jack stands first from HF.

After the install. Still off about a 1/2" or so but looks better.

Looks pretty and seems to be doing the job. Need to put it to a big climb test to be sure.

Auto up complete. I also did the rear wiper relay controller upgrade (Rear Wiper Relay Fix) but it didn't do the job. I hear clicking but no action. It used to work intermittently. Where is the ground wire that I've read can be an issue?

Yeah, right there by the Paradise Cove Luau grounds.

Let's see:

-Drank beer
-Thought about doing some work, and drank another beer
-Felt good enough to start doing some work, grabbed a cold beer

-Hooked up 3/4 wrench with a 30 mm socket to crank bolt and loosened it with a bump start. I positioned the wrench against the steering stabilizer bracket, as the lower tranny fluid line kept me from putting it against the frame (no pic of this, sorry)

-Took lots of pictures as I was working so if I forgot, or had too many beers, I could reference what it originally looked like

-Pulled out the fan, fan shroud, belts

-Pulled the Battery and box

-I think I drank another beer while doing this, as it was the last time all weekend that I was relaxed

-Pulled valve cover

Doesn't look too bad for 284k, does it?

Pulled the throttle body, upper plenum, tried to paint vc and am still battling with the aluminum not wanting to take paint in a few spots. Proceeded to clean plenum (which wasn't too bad compared to some pics I have seen on here) and VC. Forgot, removed plug seals with a screwdriver and a twist from a pair of pliers.

I'll put up a build thread, but here is what it looked like when I left it at my brothers, ready for reassembly when time allows this coming weekend. Still have to replace all the vacuum lines, tighten the #1 bypass hose (had a coolant leak, found this hose with the clamp on the block so loose I could pull it off with little effort), front and rear brakes, finish removing the rear heater and lines that are rusted through.

Been doing a bunch of water crossings
Checked all oils for water intrusion and condition. After 2 years everything looked great. Replaced all gear oil and transfer case, trans gets done with each engine oil change.

Thankfully I have all factory allen drain plugs for the way I drive
