What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (62 Viewers)

Metal fence post with rags stuffed inside, concrete floor with cardboard on top, one good HEALTHY smack! It'll go...

Ended up strapping the inner axle to a 50 pound weight with two more plates on top, slid the metal pole over and used a sledge hammer. Was only able to get this far before the strap broke... (the c-clip is there so the hidden one didn't re-seat) It was a pain just to get it this far, guess I'll be looking for different birfs

Went for a drive to make sure I did not damage anything on the weekend.

Hartley lake let go and emptied out taking half the road with it. Must have gone down at least 12'. To bad, it was a nice place to camp and stocked with fish.

2 wks ago I did the Death Road (was easier than expected).
Right now waiting on two front seats to be re-upholstered (syntheic leather - for <$100 with small-of-back-support and new cushioning. Didn't bother with full leather as will have seat covers over them).
Spent 2.5hrs putting on Waxoil underbody seal (ready for Salt Flats). Did my 15 swtiches (10 12v/USB, 6 110v outlets) custom console switches several wks back (plenty of wiring :)
Lots of odd-n-sods done recently - all niggling small stuff. Labor cheap here. Onto Chile, Argentina next. Will update new posting once get some time + photos and Expedition Portal. way behind on photo uploads
Oh! got a 5th generation (BRC) LPG/propane conversion done in Peru ($1600) - needed for Ireland/Europe especially due to cost of petrol/gas.

Would love to see pics of all your switches and other electrical set up.

Taught the girl how to throw a line in the water and wait patiently for hours while watching others pull in 3-5 pound German, Brook, and Rainbows routinely (some call it fishin). The positive is that I've found the new family base camp for the Eastern Sierras! I normally camp out of Reds, Pumice Flats, Bridgeport, etc. but gave Twin Lakes in Mammoth a shot this trip and damn...this place is nice! Crappy photo, but that's a decent waterfall in the top left corner.

Twin lake is awesome!!!!

Sounds like you are already teaching that girl to be a fisher of man.

I've been to Philmont a couple times and worked there one summer. I heard something about a flood and maybe a boy or two dying.

Unfortunately yes, a young man lost his life in a flash flood this past weekend. 3 others were washed away but survived.

I had a blast at Rubithon! Glad I joined the gang! What a great event and well organized... Thanks to Eric for organizing the event, Rick for leading the Wagon run, and to Alvaro, Andy, Robbie and Dunkane for all the help and making my first Rubithon a trip to remember... My uncle, who is my mentor in wheeling, had a blast as well.

It was nice to finally put faces on all these mud handles.... Looking forward for the next one!

Thanks to @alvarorb for this shot.... and for taking me to the right line... And I will make sure I will never follow your lead... Lol... @LandCruiserPhil, those quick disconnect came in handy...

It's amazing how this great community has so much passion in what we do... As soon as they saw us taking the hilift jack down and lifting her side, everyone gathered around and asked if we needed help... She had a small leak on the right rear axle seal, which we would've made home but uncle Joe said, let's not wait, let's do it... Unfortunately I didn't have the seal. So, Jeff from Central Coast Crusiers handed me one with no second thoughts... I offered to pay but he didn't take it, he said he'll take a beer, but our beer is only Corona and Bud... He said it's OK, I don't drink crap! LoL... Sorry, that's what Filipino's drink... :bang:

Ahh! A great reward after a day's hard work! Yes, we forgot our table!

After cleaning her up yesterday, I finally got a clear picture of her battle scar... I got this on the way out at Cadillac Hill. :bang:

Easy fix I should say, will use the "inflate a ball" behind it trick tomorrow... I will have to patch the flare holes as well and start prepping for the monstaliner... I like the flareless look now...
