You're well into the vapour zone with that reading. My guess is your fill up was probably around the 23 gallon mark.

Well, I had the unfortunate opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the sunroof system.
The sunroof decided it didn’t want to close yesterday night around 9, and I ended up to the point of having to drop the headliner and take out the entire sunroof assembly. It turns out the bracket on the back side of the glass pushed up and got knocked off the track preventing me from manually closing the sunroof. Since everything was out, I cleaned everything up really well re-greased all the tracks and shampooed the liner

Let me tell you taking that down, putting it all back up and not breaking the sunroof when I did this all by myself is a miracle. I still need to assemble the electronics to see why the sunroof is not working, but I believe it is the remote control module. I think over multiple heat cycles and then finally settling in Texas, it's given up on life. I don’t think it’s the motor because I just bought a new one and I’m getting power to the switch but it’s only about 5 V making me believe it’s the module.
and since the headliner is down, I am going to throw some sound and insulation up there, shampoo the headliner, clean up all of the trim pieces, put the headliner back up and call it a day.

Ended up buying the Rosen Land Cruiser specific sun visors ahead of summer. Really liking the mount that covers the entire hole compared to the old mount.

We have been doing a lot of exploring and camping with BIG Betty. I feeling more confident wheeling her and we are also settling into our camp gear that she holds for us. I need to post more adventure posts!
On our last trip as we were returning home from Grand Staircase area of Utah as I was passenger my feet were getting soo hot, I decided to take the seat out and add a few layers of insulation hoping it will help a little.
While I was taking stuff apart I was also on the hunt for a stinking mouse that might have traveled with us from NM to UT! Found its huge nest under the center console, a perfect open space under there. I ended up removing it all and cleaned it real good. We’ve only had BIG Betty for about 2 yrs so this was actually necessary to rid more of the previous owner’s funk. It was soooo dirty under there and I made about $4.67 in change!… but no diamond earring or other scores.
Then I decided that the rear heater unit needs to be removed. We had already disconnected it from the engine so this step was next.
I ended up cutting the old hoses under the rig because they were really stuck on there. Then I was able to unscrew it all and pull it out.
A young Horned Lizard came to visit me and took my attention for a moment…
I cleaned and patched the hole with wire screen held on with metal tape then I added more insulation to see if it helps with the heat coming from the exhaust that the passenger sits on.
All seems good and clean now!
Oh and while I was poking around I found these annoying wires with horrible connectors, I was trying to figure out what they are for and must be the CB that was removed?? Looks like I can rid the weak connectors and patch the wires… this is next:

Love that Big Betty has taken over as the main camping rig.
Having had no less than 4 different lift kits under my 80 I can say with confidence that you would love her even more if you lowered her down a notch.
80s drive and handle so much better on low to medium lift.

I agree. I’d love her down an inch or two… she does drive pretty good but I totally hear ya!!Love that Big Betty has taken over as the main camping rig.

New hood insulator and finally got the y pipe leak sorted.
A quieter muffler is always a good fix
I don't know, it looks a little cloudy to me.
Finished the insulation and sound deadening and well, I decided to do the whole thing

did an at home toe in check. My 80 was exhibiting a bit of wandering so after reading many of the posts here about Toe In checks decided to do one myself.
I found that it had just over 1mm of Toe Out so adjusted to 1.5mm of Toe In and it has made a world of difference. Tie Rod ends were all good so will see how I go but for now it handles so much better

Have you ever heard of "spider sag"? Despite working with sound systems for more than 30 years, somehow I never have. Well, today I rotated the drivers in my home audio speakers 180 degrees, and it's like I bought new speakers! I can't wait to flip the speakers in my 80 and see if they sound less like an '80s transistor radio.
