What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

I like how the gold matches the trim lines on the body - looks sweet. What'd you end up doing with the OEM wheels? I could use a full size spare . .
Matching the pinstripe was the intention, and came out pretty good I think. As far as for what I'm doing with the stock wheels, I'm probably going to hold on to them, keep them as my winter wheels. I just got the new ones and had to put them on!

Got the second battery installed, just waiting on cables to run the starting battery to the relay and move the accessories and winch over. Pretty excited about this upgrade.

Hey, man, sorry to bump such an old post. I'm adding accessories and need to clean up my battery connections. Would you happen to recall the brand of those beautiful terminal connectors that you used?

Edit: Doh... I see the brand in the pic... just needed to blow it up. Kaas terminal connectors.

Then yesterday installed new coilovers:

Details on the shocks and springs? Sure looks impressive.
Fox 16” w/remote reservoir. 350x16” mains 250x14” secondary

The old coilovers were Bilsteins w/remote reservoirs but apparently not serviceable any longer - now that they’re off I’m going to see about replacing the old rusty springs and seeing about a rebuild kit that may work.

Still some work to do since I had to increase the preload by a considerable amount on the drivers side to even the front end out - also need to adjust the panhard since I lowered the front with these shocks by about 2” - panhard pulled the drivers side in quite a bit.

How many inches of wheel travel?

Wait until you discover the taint vent on a hot day.

I think most makes stopped hiding the trunk/hatch key hole behind the rear emblem about the same time they stopped making you hold down the spring loaded license plate to fill up. :D

I'm in the process of swapping a 91 semi-float rear with a 94 e-locked axle this weekend.
I’m fairly positive Toyota calls that vent a cooter cooler

Checking over / torquing stuff in prep for weekend off-roading and with all the rain discovered this:

Water pooling in Jack holder. Could it be coming in from here?

Could be quarter window glass run, belt moulding clip holes or the vent panel at the back of the window.
Look for water tracks on the inside surface of the quarter panel

Thanks I’ll check all those out. there are no tracks. Could it be dripping strait down into Jack holder?
