I don’t know where that is, this was BLM around Socorro and Quebradas.

Are you back in NM yet? I’m ready to cruise with you and Sarah!!
Yup

Wrapped up 2025 with a big Oregon coast trip for some sand camping, dune and beach driving and general unplugged-ness. Made one questionable decision to plow through a flooded UTV track behind a big dune, but 100 yards of headlight-depth wading later, my truck, family and gear all survived. For a second I was sure I was going to hydrolock the motor and have to swim for it, but all it cost me was one low beam headlight bulb, and one semi-emergent run for the pit toilet for a code brown once we got back to the trailhead.

So in that spirit I promptly made a New Year's resolution to do less really, really dumb s**t in 2026, while still enjoying what life has to offer!

I just did my first oil change since fixing my "generous" valve cover and spark plug tube oil leaks, and I just went 5K miles with zero change in oil level, confirming no drips and no burning oil.

I used to do that regularly, but my slow oil leaks started 7+ years ago, and I had to add increasing amounts between changes. It's great to get a new read and confirm that at 207K my 1FZ-FE is still running strong and clean.

I’ve had my rig for 4+ years now. I knew nothing about 80 series before. But now I can say that my truck is 100% functional. Since I do everything myself, I can only benefit from my own questioning and all the valuable infos from you guys. I always thought odd that when in low range I never saw the CDL indication on the dashboard. But hey… I was wrong! After all the troubleshooting I discovered that my center lock actuator harness was not fully engaged. One click later I now have light in the dash and my differential is locking. Not bad after 4 years! I comfort myself by saying that my truck is getting younger. I wish I was an 80 series!
