It's best if you run a solid peice through the ARB and tie it to the frame at the bolt points. Finish by welding on both front and back of the ARB face. @NLXTACY did this year's back and a great example...
Yup

If you look back a couple of pages I posted a pic of mine. I had 1” steel plate welded onto mine to beef it up.
Don't know why I missed that post, looks great.
Did you do any reinforcement on the back?

Did the water pump and timing belt this past weekend. It took longer than expected but went smoothly regardless

Does anyone with Toyota parts inventory access know if fusible links are back in country / stock yet?

I got some from Joey the other day. Is there a secondary market for these things yet?

Here's a few dealers with stock. I'm pretty sure the guy that shows 31 is the dealer Beno had a business relationship with. They'd probably like to sell a few.

:)

Mines imported and still had an aftermarket Japanese head unit. So it didn't pick up us stations and I don't own cd's lol
When I brought mine over, I picked it up at the port and drove it 1300km the same day. Japanese radio didn't work here, but it did have a hard drive loaded with J-Pop music to enjoy for those 14 hours.

That's good information, and you are correct that the compressor pulley and clutch can be replaced without recovering the refrigerant. I would recommend getting a pair of right angle snap ring pliers (it looks like Knipex brand is available at Home Depot) and try to get at it with the compressor in place. Be sure when you remove the clutch plate, if you haven't already, to watch for any spacer shims and put the same ones back in. If you have an FSM, be sure to use it. Otherwise, look for pictures or video of how those pieces come apart and go back together.
For those of you following along at home, got the new A/C compressor bearing installed today, there is now no wobbling when turning the compressor wheel by hand!

Tool to get the snapring off and on the compressor was Knipex 49 11 A2

I drove over a few rocks in the snow. Chinamans In Buena Vista Co.. Ran into a cool old scout on the trail. For those who thought I was showing off at SAS 5 On the gulch I do stupid stuff like that even when Im alone hahaha.

Finally took the time to inspect my sector shaft splines which were fine, so went ahead and adjusted my drag link and for the first time in about two years have a straight steering wheel lol  also installed new PCV and hoses, old pcv definitely wasn't functioning properly.
